Thursday 09th October 2014 News from the DEM Office Recognition as The Fellow of Royal Society, LONDON to the Dean, Dr. V.Madhusudan Rao of VFSTR University The internationally reputed Royal Society of London conferred Dr.V.Madhusudhan Rao, Dean, Engineering and Management, with the Fellow of the Royal Society in Chemistry (FRSC). This recognition would come to those people who rendered higher level research and worked hard in this field. This recognition will be given under three categories: 1) Research, 2) Education Management and 3) Teaching. Dr. Rao received this recognition for his rigorous research on Materials Technology and Energy Engineering. With this recognition Dr. Rao can take part in the workshops, technical discussions and live conferences of the Royal Society. Dr. Rao previously worked as a principal of Vignan LARA in 2010 and received the Best Principal Award from JNTUK, Kakinada. As an academician, and research scholar, his 35 research papers on Materials Technology and Energy Engineering got presented and published in national and international conferences and journals. News from the Department of ECE Research Group Meeting Embedded system research group meeting was held on 08-10-2014 between 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm. In this meeting Mrs. K. Annapurna has given a presentation on “Cognitive Radios”. Student Achievements Two Students, P.Venkatesh and G.Kodanda Ramaiah from School of Electronics, Vignan’s University are selected to participate in Volley Ball Tournament in Krishna University, Machilipatnam during 8th Oct -12th Oct 2014. News from the Department of S&H Dr. Rao is the member of the prestigious IEEE, life member of ISTE, and also life member of Catalyst Society of India. To his credit, he is the member of Board of studies of Acharya Nagarjuna University and member of examinations of Vellore Institute of Technology. About thirty students participated in this activity. Different topics like Examination stress on students, Role of Youth in the Development of Nation, Music in Telugu Movies, Role of Mother in Family Survival and Growth, Role of Students in Agitations etc were selected by the students and they talked on them. The advantages of this programme is to know the skills with in one minute like, command on language, smartness, managerial skills, convincing skills, etc.,. The students exhibited the language proficiency and expressed satisfaction that they could speak about a particular issue or topic in one minute of time.
