Heaton Wines is an independent wine merchant that offers a range of quality wines and drinks to enjoy from
“Soup to Nuts” – Apéritifs à Digestifs.
Our philosophy
We are passionate in providing our customers with individual wines of character and distinction. Bucking the
trend of choice reduction, we offer variety and diversity. Although we have a wide price range, we aim to
provide value for money at all levels.
To achieve these objectives, Heatons obtains its wines from a number of sources, including directly from the
producer. This enables us to offer wines that are interesting but not generally available. We pride ourselves on
building relationships with the small independent producers, as well as larger firms.
It is our policy to sell wines that are ready to drink - ok, they may benefit from being open for a couple of
hours! You will not have to wait for years for them to be at their best - or even drinkable.
Because many of our wines come from small producers or are older and rare, stocks of some
wines are inevitably very small. At the time of printing all the items shown are available.
However, it is possible that we have since sold out of some wines or cannot satisfy a quantity
requested. In these circumstance we would discuss the alternatives with you – see our substitution
policy below.
In addition to our fine wines, we sell a variety of accessories (cork screws, glasses, etc).
Heaton Wines is pleased to sell wines in whatever quantities are required (subject to
availability). We do NOT have a minimum order quantity of a case and are happy to
sell single bottles.

From our shop at 35 Church Street, Romsey, where you can see the full range of our wines, apéritifs, digestifs
and accessories. Our shop is close to the Abbey and there is parking nearby. Normal opening times are
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 10am to 6pm; Thursday & Friday: 10am to 7pm; Saturday: 9am to 6pm - but
see our Internet site, www.heaton-wines.com for any variations.

Minimum order size
We have no minimum order size (in terms of quantity or in terms of value). We are happy to sell single bottles or by the case
(subject to availability).
Pricing
The prices shown are inclusive of VAT and Excise Duty – where subject to VAT and/or excise duty.

Availability
The products shown in this list are offered subject to stock remaining available.
Substitution
Substitution of wines that are out of stock will generally only be done with your approval. If a wine ordered is out of stock, we
shall make every reasonable endeavour to contact you to discuss alternatives. In exceptional circumstances, where we cannot
contact you in a reasonable timescale and where we do not have relevant instructions from you, we may substitute out-of-stock
wines with wines of a similar character and price.
Privacy Policy
Data protection law governs the retention and use of personal customer information by Heaton Wines Ltd. Any such data is held
in compliance with the regulations and we will not pass information to other parties to allow them to market to you without your
express permission. All the information collected, when you first register or shop with us online, is to enable us to give you the
highest level of service possible.
Our online ordering service is fully secure. All credit card transactions processed from this site use 128-bit encryption to create a
safe and secure shopping experience for you.
Claims and queries
Missing or damaged goods must be reported to us within three days of receipt. If you are expecting a delivery and have not
received it within 3 working days, please inform us.
Any complaints in respect of quality or service will be attended to personally by the directors.
Faulty wines will only be replaced or a rebate given if reported to Heaton Wines within 60 days of delivery.

Cancellation - distance purchase (telephone, mail order or internet order)
Right to cancel
You have the right to cancel the contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and
indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the goods.
To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us at Heaton Wines Ltd, 35 Church Street, Romsey, Hampshire, SO51 8BT of
your decision to cancel the contract by a clear statement (a letter sent by post or email sent to [email protected]). You
may use the attached model cancellation form, but it is not obligatory.
To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to
cancel before the cancellation period has expired.
Effects of cancellation
If you cancel a contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery. We may
make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary
handling by you. The reimbursement is dependent on the goods being received back in satisfactory condition.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than
(a) 14 days after the day we receive back from you any goods supplied, or
(b) (if earlier) 14 days after the day you provide evidence that you have returned the goods, or
(c) if there were no goods supplied, 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel the contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have
expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to us without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day
on which you communicate your cancellation from the contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the
period of 14 days has expired.
You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. The cost is estimated at a maximum of approximately £15.
Payments
We accept payment made by Credit or Debit Card (except Diners Club and JCB) at the time of ordering.
Payments made using Visa, Maestro or Mastercard are subject to CV2 identity validation checks such as Verified by Visa and
Mastercard Secure Code.
For internet orders, once submitted, your credit/debit card details will be encrypted when sent to SagePay to minimise the
possibility of unauthorised access or disclosure.
If the card issuer refuses to authorise payment, we not be liable for any delay or non-delivery. We may need to contact you by
telephone or email to verify details before we are able to dispatch your order.
We are sorry that we cannot currently accept Heaton Wines vouchers or gift tokens as payment online, but they can be redeemed
by post or at our shop.
Delivery Information
Romsey delivery (SO51 postcode) is free for orders of 3 or more bottles (which can be mixed) or of value greater or equal to
£20. Smaller deliveries will incur a delivery charge of £7.50.
Local delivery (within 15 miles of Romsey but outside SO51 postcode) is free for orders of 12 or more bottles (which can be
mixed) or of value greater or equal to £70. Smaller deliveries will incur a delivery charge of £10.00.

There will be no charge for dispatch of tickets & vouchers.
Orders are normally despatched within two weekdays of receipt and are normally received within three week days. There may,
however, be circumstances when more time should be allowed.
Legal age for buying alcohol
It is illegal to sell or supply alcohol or tobacco to people under the age of 18. By placing an order you are confirming that you
are at least 18 years old. If we or our carriers have any doubts about your age, we shall request proof of age and, if not satisfied,
reserve the right to cancel the order.
Applicable law
These terms of sale and the supply of the goods will be subject to English law, and the English courts will have jurisdiction in
respect of any dispute arising from the contract.

Introduction
In lieu of offering discounts for case purchases (the prices of individual bottles are already based on the case
prices), Heaton Wines operates a points scheme. This has the advantage of rewarding not just volumes
purchased but also the value of purchases. It rewards cumulative purchases over time rather than a single oneoff discount. It also rewards purchases of any Heaton Wines products – not only wines.
How the scheme works
• One point is earned for every two pounds spent,
• When 25 points have been collected, the points can be retrieved in part or in full against subsequent
orders and are worth 10p each when redeemed (this is equivalent to a nominal 5% discount).

The points can only be redeemed against future orders at Heaton Wines Ltd. The points have no redeemable value but signify Heaton
Wines Ltd’s willingness to offer a discount equivalent to 10p per point.
Points are awarded on the basis of the purchase price of products (ie. after any discount but including VAT). Points are not awarded
for any delivery charge that might be incurred.
When points are redeemed against an order, new points cannot be earned for that order.
Unredeemed points do not expire unless the scheme is wound up.
Heaton Wines Ltd reserves the right to modify or wind up the scheme at any time.
