Background
Interdisciplinary Education on Nuclear Power Plant Technology
KINGS (KEPCO International Nuclear GraduateSchool) University was established to
cultivate leadership-level professionals in nuclear power plant (NPP) engineering. KINGS
University offers a 2 year MS program accredited by the Korean Ministry of Education.
KINGS University has a curriculum and teaching method uniquely designed to educate
and train nuclear professionals who will help enhance nuclear safety and technology
globally. In 2014, KINGS University graduated its first 54 students, with 22 students from
Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, South Africa, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.
Our two year curriculum results in a Master of Science (MS) degree. The MS program
consists of courses in the fundamentals of nuclear power plant engineering during the
1st year, and specialized programs during the 2nd year. These programs include team
project courses focusing on the engineering and management aspects of NPP design,
operation, and maintenance. This helps students become better prepared to contribute
to their energy organizations.
KINGS University has close ties with the KEPCO group of companies, which participate
in each phase of the NPP lifecycle. This enables KINGS University to provide a high
level of practical training and engineering education. Moreover, KINGS University is
located next to the Kori NPP complex. KINGS University also works closely with IAEA
to promote NPP human resources development, through a ‘Practical Arrangement for
Cooperation and Promotion of Education and Training System’.

They are just amazing
I like the professors at KINGS; owing to their never ending urge to impact knowledge and offer
mentorship to all cadres of students from various countries and institutions without any discrimination,
while taking into account their academic, experience, and cultural diversities.
An exclusive graduate school
To me, KINGS is special because it is located on the beautiful shores of the East Sea. Once in a while,
I enjoy the breathtaking views of the sunrise, if I’m lucky enough to wake up early and at the right time.
But the most unique thing about KINGS is the fact that my professors are nuclear industry experts,
having worked on nuclear projects and businesses as professionals for many, many years. Their work
experiences in the real world are priceless. As a KINGS student, I am very fortunate to be able to benefit
