Climate and energy in the Italian pulp and paper sector: energy efficiency and markets
The first session of MIAC Tissue Conference is focusing on the fibers itself, the markets for fiber and tissue as well as their development
and trends. Which fibers are relevant for tissue, the regional variations and the role of the market prices on the furnish will be discussed. A
market outlook will be given together with technological and chemical ways of impacting the fiber mix. Speakers include market experts as
well as pulp producers and selected suppliers.
The evolution of energy market and climate regulation have an increasingly significant impact on the Italian paper mills competitiveness.
Therefore it is imperative for paper mills to gain control of all the energy bill price components. This target can be achieved using different
measures: advanced purchases strategies, improvement of the energy and environment efficiency and skilful management of CO2 permits.
