The CAPL Annual Winter Conference has now been a tradition since 1995. Held annually in early March, this conference features a 4-day scientific program which has been approved as an accredited group learning activity as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The Annual Winter Conference alternates between Eastern Canada and Western Canada every second year. GOALS The conference provides attendees with an excellent opportunity to network with colleagues across the country and discuss their respective clinical, academic and research interests as well as standards governing the practice. In a collegial atmosphere, the main goals of the conference consist in dissemination of current and updated knowledge in forensic psychiatry and related parent field of psychiatry, refresh skills in the fundamentals of the discipline and discuss advances in research relevant to the discipline. [email protected] CME TARGET AUDIENCE Psychiatrists working at the interface of law and psychiatry, and any physician and professional interested to further their knowledge in this area. OBJECTIVES At the end of this conference, participants will be able to: • Appreciate the diversity of forensic psychiatry with criminal and civil matters. • Learn about complex clinical cases and recent case law. • Learn about the implementation and outcome of programs. • Directly apply new knowledge into their own practice.
