Baltic Congress
of Radiology
October 10 - 11, 2014
Pärnu, Estonia
School of Radiology
First announcement
October 9, 2014
Dear Colleagues
and Guests
On behalf of Estonian Society of Radiology, I am
pleased to announce that following our previous
4th Baltic Radiology Congress (BCR) in Vilnius, the
forthcoming Baltic Congress of Radiology will be held
in Pärnu, Estonia, at the beginning of October 2014.
The first Baltic Congress of Radiology was held in
Kaunas, Lithuania in 2006 and is now organized every
two years by the joint initiative of Estonian, Latvian
and Lithuanian Radiology societies.
We are delighted to announce that this year, for
the first time, the Baltic Congress of Radiology
will be held jointly by the two specialities working
side-by-side in the field of radiology – radiologists
and radiographers. The last Baltic Congress of
Radiographers was held in 2012 also in Vilnius.
For Radiographers, the forthcoming congress will
be already the 7th. The first Baltic Congress of
Radiographers dates back to 2003 and was held in
Pärnu, Estonia.
Radiology is among the most exciting and fast
developing disciplines in medicine playing nowadays
an essential role in healthcare. Recent years have
offered us a tremendous progress in the science of
medical imaging as well as in technological research.
This calls for highest educational and professional
standards for radiologists, radiographers and
engineers working in the field of medical imaging.
The regular Baltic Radiology Congresses are
therefore aimed at exchanging the fast escalating
knowledge and experience between Baltic
radiologists and radiographers. The congress
is especially aimed at bringing together residents
and young scientists, offering opportunities for
international cooperation in research as well as
connecting researchers and practitioners. The
congress offers invited lectures, presentations from
our own Baltic specialists about latest developments
in Baltic radiology, interactive sessions, scientific
presentations, short communications, symposia and
poster presentations.
The host city of the forthcoming BCR – Pärnu – is
the well-known resort town that holds the title
of Estonia`s Summer Capital. Pärnu as a town
dates back to the 13th century and has it`s unique
touch of history, being also a former member of
Hanseatic league. We hope that Pärnu as a congress
venue offers once again an excellent place for our
upcoming congress on the exciting field of radiology.
I warmly invite you to join the Baltic Congress of
Radiology in Pärnu in sincere hope that we altogether
will make this endeavor a success !
