Do you want to do something but aren’t sure if you should? Now you have a helping
hand! Come to the Media Center and leave me your question!! Just fill out a slip and
leave it in the designated box. Your answer may appear in the next issue of the Eagle’s
Eye! And, who am I? That’s a secret I’ll never tell…
 Attention all EAGLE’S EYE Newspaper members: deadlines are fast approaching for
the release of the Veteran’s Day issue. Our article deadline is the week of October 20th,
and at the latest, Friday the 24th. Please contact your editors and writers. Also, please
check your email for updates! If you have a problem regarding emails please see Mr.
Pelligra directly or email [email protected].
 POWDER PUFF sign-ups will be during all lunch waves on Tuesday, October 21st.
 The Agriscience and Biotechnology Center is having a HALLOWEEN FARM
FESTIVAL this Saturday, October 18th , from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. Activities include a
Haunted House, visit with the animals, tractor rides, games, face painting and a brown
bag snack. Admission is $5.00. Children are welcome in costume.
 Attention all students taking PSAT on Saturday-please report directly to Commons and
arrive no later than 7:45 am. You MUST bring a calculator and a #2 pencil.
 Bring Your Dancing Shoes! SELF (Spirit, Empowerment, Love, Fullfillment) is
meeting WEDNESDAY, October 22nd after school in Room B-6. We will be
concentrating on the Fulfillment aspect of SELF by learning some Flamenco dancing.
All current members and interested students are invited to attend. See you there!
 InterAct will be meeting Monday, October 27th at 2:30 in the Career Center. We will be
hanging our Tee Shirts for the Clothesline Project at THS as well as planning for Red
Ribbon week! See you then……
 The STRATEGY CLUB will meet on Monday, October 20th after school in Room C-6.
New members are always welcome!
 SOPHOMORES - the class trip to Lake Compounce Haunted Graveyard is TODAY.
For those of you who signed up and paid, we will meet in the back of the school at 4
o’clock. Busses will leave at 4:15 – DON’T be late. Bus lists will be posted in the back
of the school just prior to us leaving. Don’t forget to bring money with you for food
and drinks! Please let your rides know that we will return to THS by 10 pm. You will
NOT be allowed to re-enter the school when we return from the trip.
 Reminder to all members: CREATIVE MINDS will meet every Wednesday in Room
B-3 from 2:30 All students are invited to join one of the “TeenGroupTalks ” on Tuesdays, Period 4 in
Room C-1 and Thursdays Period 6 in A-15. Students must have lunch, a study hall or
specific permission to attend from their classroom teacher. The Thursday group
begins on the 23rd and Tuesday begins on the 28th of this month, the group meets
weekly and will through January. Please see your guidance counselor or Mr. Mecca
for more information.
 COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY: Please contact Mr. Mecca
([email protected]) for two hours of community service during the Pumpkin
Run on Sunday, October 19th.
 The JANE RYAN PUMPKIN FAIR Volunteer Sign-ups is now open with lots of fun
places to help out and three shifts to choose from for adults and TEENS looking for
service hours. The event is SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18TH, with shifts available on
Friday for set-up and decorating as well. Here’s the link:

 ST. VINCENT’S COLLEGE is sponsoring a Fall Open House on Saturday, October
18th at 9:00 am. If any students are interested in Nursing or Allied Health programs,
please have them visit our website at www.stvincentscollege.edu and register.
 ALL PEER LEADERS need to make arrangements to attend a training on Tuesday,
October 21st from Periods 2-8 in the auditorium. Please see Mr. McLaughlin or Mr.
Mecca with any questions.
 ALL FRESHMAN, with 4th and 5th period lunch, need to bring a bagged lunch on
Thursday, October 30th, the day of the Truth About Hate Assembly.

 THE DRIVER’S LICENSE ROAD TEST is available at Trumbull High School
scheduled by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Applicants need to have completed all
requirements, by the test date, to be eligible. Fees are $75.00 payable to THS Driver
Education. A minimum of 2 hours behind the wheel instruction at THS @ $45.00 per
hour.
$40 payable to the DMV if applicant previously failed the road test.
Available dates as of September 1, 2014 are:
October 23rd
November 5 and 19
December 3and 17
Applications for the Road Test are available in A House Office and outside the
Continuing Education Office. All paper work must be complete before the appointment
can be confirmed. All behind the wheel instruction needs to be completed by the test
date. Plan ahead.
