Program Spirit & Philosophy The purpose of founding The United African University of Tanzania(UAUT) is to raise Tanzanian leaders who are equipped with excellence in wisdom, knowledge and Christian virtues. Our leaders will lead and serve Tanzania, Africa, and the world with God’s vision, confidence, courage, and great passion. They will be imbued with a love for the people of Tanzania, Africa, and the world, and graduate with a proven ability to accomplish the great mission of establishing Tanzania as the light and salt of Africa and the world in the twenty-first century and in the ages to come. To accomplish this purpose, UAUT will abide by the following disciplines: excellence in the knowledge and practice of the professional fields, faithful discipline of Christian values, continual cooperation with other universities, governments, and both domestic and international institutions, and the promotion of a bold spirit for the coming future. These disciplines will be practiced in all the university’s policies, administration, and teachings. In pursuing these paths to accomplish the UAUT purpose, UAUT will maintain the highest standards of the Christian core values which constitute the conservative Christian doctrines, including the practice of love, righteousness, honesty, integrity, diligence, purity, and the Great Commission, and will preserve these standards at any cost up to, and including, the existence of UAUT itself. When I in awesome wonder> < Jesus Loves Me This I Know > 1. O, Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder consider all the worlds Thy hands have made, I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy pow’r through-out the universe displayed, 1. Jesus loves, Me this I know For the Bible tell me so; Little ones to Him be long, They are weak but He is strong. Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee; How great Thou art, how great Thou art! Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee; How great Thou art, how great Thou art! 2. When through the woods and forest glades I wander And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees; When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze; 3. And When I think that God, His Son not sparing, Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in; That on the cross my burden gladly bearing, He bled and died to take away my sin 4. When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart! Then I shall bow in humble adoration And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art! • Hymn Yes Jesus loves me Yes Jesus loves me Yes Jesus loves me The bible tells me so 2. Jesus loves me, He who died Heaven’s gate to open wide; He will wash away my sin, Let His little child come in. 3. Jesus loves me, loves me still, Though I’m very weak and ill; From His shining throne on high Comes to watch me where I lie. 4. . Jesus loves me, He will still Close be side me all the way; I love Him, and when I die He will take me home on high. < Down in the valley where the mists of doubt arise > 1. Down in the valley where the mists of doubt arise, I my faith can walk with God’s victorious band. Though so called “real proofs” elude my ears and eyes On the promises of God I firmly stand. Walk we on ward; walk in faith, believing! press we on bravely on! Cast off doubt and fear! Press we heav’n ward, through our faith receiving proofs more sure than any know to eye or ear. 2. How ever things look to this poor, human sight If we trust witness giv’n, with faith in Him still, Then while we live undoubting, calm with in His might, in the Lord our deepest longings He’ll fulfil. 3. Faith ful is God Who swore, by His own holiness, All the precious words to Jesus’ followers giv’n! Then un to us who trust and Jesus’ name confess, What shall be impossible in earth or heav’n. <O, Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder> < Jesus Loves Me This I Know > 1. O, Lord my God!
