Industrial Technologies Careers
A recent survey of employers showed that skilled trade jobs have become increasingly hard to
fill. The shortage of qualified workers in this area has been largely attributed to lack of technical
training in a rapidly changing field and the retirement of baby boomers. Transportation jobs also
show increased growth. In this section you will read about several in-demand jobs from production
technician to bus driver. One of them might be just right for you.
ServSafe Training - Online
Advanced Manufacturing - Certified Production Technician
The curriculum will prepare you to take an entry level position in a wide range of
manufacturing companies. Many of our students have found local jobs after being
unemployed. This program is the perfect way to “up skill” yourself and prepare for a new
career in manufacturing. The course is comprised of 150 hours of training over a six-week
period that focuses on skills and knowledge needed to be successful in a manufacturing
environment. At the end of the program, you will take four tests that will enable you to
become a certified production technician. In addition, the program will host a job fair at
its conclusion specifically for employers seeking to hire workers with these credentials. If
you’re looking for a job in manufacturing, this is the class you want.
Applicants must apply to participate in this program and a limited number will be
admitted. You must demonstrate skills in 9th grade math and 10th grade reading in order
to be accepted. You must also clear both a background check and drug screen.
