For instance, in the first few years of retirement, you might want to travel or take up a new hobby. Later, you may want to replace your car . Think about how you can use your different income sources to fund the different stages of your life. The important thing is to plan for the long term, not just the next 5 years. Seek financial advice or speak to a Department of Human Services' Financial Information Service officer if you are unsure what to do. Find ways to grow your retirement income Ask any retiree what they fear the most and chances are most will say 'running out of money'. But there are ways to stretch your retirement income and things you can do to make your money last as long as possible. To find out After seeing the movie, I just had to read the book. There it was, on our “Book Club” list for July—August. Markus Zusak was born in 1975 and lives in Sydney with his wife and family. Death is telling the story, unusual, yes, but death tells us, “I am in all truthfulness attempting to be cheerful. I am amiable, agreeable, and affable, just don’t ask me to be nice !” The book is set during the very early years of W.W.11. Liesel Meminger, nearly 10, is on her way to foster parents Hans and Rosa Huberman, who live in Himmel St (Heaven St) in Molking near Munich. By her Brother’s graveside, Liesel’s life is changed when she picks up an object, partially hidden in the snow. It is “The Grave Digger’s Handbook”, and it is her first act of book thievery. So begins a love affair with books and words, as Liesel learns to read. Soon she is stealing books from Nazi book burnings and the Mayor’s wife’s library. But, these are dangerous times. When Liesel’s family hides a Jewish fist fighter in their basement, Liesels’ world is both opened up and closed down. more, contact Shirley McDonald on : 4369 4803 or 4369 1211 Bang Bang Chicken BOOK REVIEW: THE BOOK THIEF BY MARKUS ZUSAK I would like to thank Esme Fricker for starting the book club. I have had a great deal of pleasure reading books I would never have picked up, some I have enjoyed, some I haven’t. May The Book Club continue, especially the lively discussions and afternoon tea’s. Jan Burns Serves 4 Q. What did the lawyer name his daughter? A. Sue. Before going in for surgery I thought it would be funny if I posted a note on myself telling the surgeon to be careful. After the surgery I found another note on myself .”Anyone know where my cell phone is????????” An elderly couple, who had just learned how to send text messages on their mobile phones: the wife was a romantic type and the husband was more of a no-nonsense guy. One afternoon the wife went out to meet a friend for coffee. She decided to send her husband a romantic text message and she wrote: “If you are sleeping, send me your dreams. If you are laughing, send me your smile. If you are eating, send me a bite. If you are drinking, send me a sip. If you are crying, send me your tears. I love you.” The husband replies: “I’m on the toilet. advise” Please 180g mixed green salad leaves 500g boneless, skinless chicken breasts - cut into strips ¼ cup (60ml) sesame oil ½ cup (130g) crunchy peanut butter Scatter the salad leaves onto a serving plate.
