IMPORTANT NOTICES
1. Kruger & Victoria Falls Tours:
The tours to Kruger & Victoria Falls (included as stipulated) are operated by Selous Safaris & Tours. Your tour
booking & payment will be made on your behalf by MAA, but please read their Booking Terms & Conditions and
itineraries (see attached). On first day of tour, you will also be required to complete a separate indemnity form.
If paying gap program fees by credit card, these payments will be processed by Selous Safaris & Tours.

2. Pick up (Collection) & Drop off points on first and last day of gap program:
Specific venues are listed below, where gappers will be picked up or dropped off from. These points must be
specified upon application. Gappers are encouraged to book accommodation at these pick up and drop off points,
and are responsible for their own transport before and after pick up & collection days. No collections and drop
offs are done at OR Tambo Internation Airport (due to traffic), but many of these venues listed are closely
situated to the airport with many transfer options available. Only transport to MAA (on collection day) and
transport back to venues (on departure day) are included in the fees charged.

H. RULES & CODE OF CONDUCT
Due to the nature of the responsibility of working with young people (during camp counselling) and wild animals,
etc., extreme caution must be given in each applicants' conduct. We therefore require that each applicant/gapper
abide by these rules and regulations fully. No exceptions.

All gappers are to conduct themselves in a friendly and professional manner when participating in camp counselling, also including
all codes of conduct included and taught during in-house training.
Gappers are expected to participate in all activities as per set out program, including the maintaining of cleanliness and tidiness
within the campus house and facilities.
Gappers agree to at all times look tidy and presentable and to pay particular attention to personal hygiene.
Gappers will be expected to not drink any alcohol throughout the duration of their program at MAA.
All facilities are non-smoking and smokers are expected to smoke in allocated sections. Unfortunately no smoking is allowed during
camp counselling at the camp venue (MARANEMAN ADVENTURE CAMPS)
Male & Female accommodation and bathrooms are completely separate, and female gappers are under no circumstances allowed
inside the male areas… and visa versa.
In support of the integrity of our program, gappers are expected to behave and treat one another with the utmost respect and no
fraternization is allowed between gappers, gappers & staff or gappers & clients, during their program.
All gappers are expected to respect the property of MAA and to treat it carefully. Any damages caused by gappers, will be for that
person's account to replace or repair. This includes equipment, facilities & property of MAA and Maraneman Adventure Camps.
Payment for such damages are to be made immediately, before continuation in the rest of the program.
All gappers are expected to respect each other's personal space and personal property inside rooms and in campus area at all times.
No unauthorsied usage of personal belongings is allowed.
Theft of any kind whatsoever will lead to immediate dismissal from the program.
Gappers agree to avoid unauthorised areas, where they are not permitted access. These are stipulated clearly.
Gappers may never enter camp rooms of children alone during camp, always have another gapper accompany you.
Any additional medical expenses undergone by any gapper, including transportation costs, etc., is for the gappers' own account and
is payable immediately, before continuation in the rest of the program.
Gappers agree to abide by all rules and regulations set out by all organisations visited during their program.
