Zoo Social
This month, due to late notice a big
social was not able to be planned out,
but there was a small gathering held. On
September 20th, a Zoo social was held.
The member that attended got a chance
to explore Tulsa Zoo, while also getting
to meet the officer in a more relaxed
setting.
Pie in the Face
Note From PresidentFrom the Hometown Huddle to the Fall Training
Conference to the start of a new fundraiser, September has been
a busy month for Jenks Key Club. At the annual Jenks High
School Hometown Huddle, Key Club set up a free arts-and-crafts
table to give kids something to do and to give parents’ wallets a
break. We also supplied volunteers to any other clubs and
organizations in need of extra help. Despite the sweltering heat,
we had a lot of fun and met a lot of great parents! At the Fall
Training Conference at the beginning of the month, local Key
Clubs met at our school’s Math & Science Center in order to
receive information on District-level projects, upcoming events,
and to connect with other Key Club officers in the area. And
finally, the end of September saw our school-wide fundraiser
with 15 teachers from the high school and freshman academy
enter the pool of potential pie-ees. Students bid on the teachers
they most want to see pie-d in the face, and the top 3 will be
getting pied the second week in October. All the money raised
will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network! With such great
accomplishments throughout September, our only goal is to keep
the progress going through the coming months!
Going hand-in-hand with
the Governors' project,
Jenks decided to do a Pie a
teacher in the Face to raise
money for St. Francis
Children Hospital, which is a
partner with the Children's
Miracle network. Through a
week of fundraising, we
were able to raise $752. The
winners of the competition
are Mr. Engle ,Mr. Fox
and Mrs. Morris for the
freshman. They will be pied
at the HOCO pep Assembly
on October 10th. Fund
Raising is still in effect, as
we see which teacher will
bid the most to pie them.

Grace Living Center
Grace Living Center is an amazing volunteer opportunity for key
club members! Grace's Garden, the preschool/kindergarten
program, is full of adorable little children who love hanging out
with the "big kids".
"[Volunteering at Grace] is really cool because I get to work with
kids who are really cute and a lot of fun," Lauren Tran said.
Your only job is to hang out with the kids and help out the teachers.
There are also several ways to volunteer with the elderly there.
"The little kids at Grace are so cute,, and they always make my day
whenever I get to volunteer there," Janet Hong said.
Grace is located between the Freshman Academy and track field.
All you need to do is sign in with the front desk as well as the
binder with hearts on it in Grace's Garden to
t get your hours
counted!
