REVIEW OP THE PROGRAMME AND BUDGET ESTIMATES FOR 1957: Item 3,2 of the Agenda (Official Records No. 66; Document EBI7/79) Preliminary report of the Standing Committee on Administration and Finance (EBI7/69) The broad financial implications of the budget estimates and implications for governments of the Director-General's proposed budget level for 1957 "(Chapter V of the Standing Committee's report) (continued from the fourteenth meeting) The CHAIRMAN invited comments on document EBI7/79, the report of the Working Party which the Board had set up at its fourteenth meeting, during its discussion on Chapter V of the Standing Committee's report, for the purpose of developing a compromise proposal on the budget level for 1957. There were no comments. The CHAIRMAN put the draft resolution in the Working Party's report to the vote. Decisions The draft resolution in the Working Party's report (EB17/79) was adopted by 13 votes to 5 (see resolution EB17.R28). The CHAIRMAN said that the adoption of the draft resolution marked' the completion of the Board' s examination of section 1 (entitled "General") of Chapter V. He invited comments on each of the other sections of the Chapter in turn.
