Theme 1: Patient Involvement and Patient Access (Sweden)
Sweden speaker: Ellen Hyttsten, General manager, Inera
Inera AB, is a non profit company owned by the county councils. Inera deals with
development and management assignments, particularly in information provision and
IT, based on the requirements of the county councils and municipalities. The
assignments primarily involve electronic services for healthcare personnel and for the
public.

The Center for eHealth in Sweden has been formed to exploit the potential of IT and
eServices in Swedish healthcare. The Center shall create the long term conditions
necessary for developing and introducing nationwide use of IT in the decentralized
health and social care system that the Swedish model is. The Center for eHealth in
Sweden is governed by representatives of county councils and regions, the Swedish
Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR), municipalities and private care
providers.

Finland panelist: Mr Arto Holopainen, Health and Wellbeing Cluster
Health and Well being Cluster is a Finnish national development program for the health
and well being industry. The aim is to create new enterprises and support growth and
competitiveness. With work on: self and remote monitoring of human health,
technology and services for preventive life style, and attractiveness of Finnish health
and well being industry
Sweden panelist: Lars Jerlvall, Strategist, Center for eHealth in Sweden
The Center for eHealth in Sweden has been formed to exploit the potential of IT and

Theme 4: Apps and healthcare, How to access public data (Finland)

Teuri, Manager of the Finnish national PHR initiative, Sitra
Duodecim Medical Publications Ltd., one of the largest medical publisher in the Nordic
countries. Duodecim has developed the idea of Evidence Based Medicine Guidelines, a
comprehensive electronic guideline database.

Medtech represent nearly 90 percent of the total turnover of the medical technology
market in Sweden. Swedish Medtech s vision is to ensure access to and the continuous
development of medical technology in order to meet the patient s medical needs, while
enhancing quality of life and contributing to a more effective and efficient treatment
and care.
