Chapin Theatre Company audiences love the comedies
of Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten and
Funny Little Thing Called Love will not disappoint. This
deliriously funny new comedy is all about everyone’s
favorite four-letter word: L-O-V-E. Under a full moon
on an unpredictable night of romance, four rollicking
tales take the audience on an around-the-world journey
-- from Texas (where a use-car-selling Romeo winds up
with three fed-up Juliets) to Waikiki (where characters
from last season’s The Hallelujah Girls crash someone’s
Hawaiian honeymoon), on to a London Bistro (where
sparks between two young lovers are dampened by
an American tourist) and finally, to Manhattan (where
a man tries to dig his way out of a mid-life crisis via an
ill-advised and elaborate marriage proposal). Open
your heart to romantic mayhem and come join the fun!
By the time the evening is over and the moon works
its magic, love will conquer all and your sides will ache
from laughter.

With this modern classic, Chapin Theatre Company
brings its first musical to the Harbison Theatre
stage. This Tony Award-wining book and score take
everyone’s favorite fairy tales and mix them all together
for a comical, enchanting and touching story of a Baker
and his wife, who cannot have a child due to a witch’s
curse. As they set off on a journey to undo the curse,
they meet others with unfulfilled wishes of their own,
including Cinderella, who is dying to go to the King’s
festival, and Jack, who wishes his cow would produce
milk. Soon, two princes, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding
Hood and the wolf, among others, are caught up in
the quest. When everyone gets what they want, they
quickly learn that wanting something and getting it are
not necessarily equally satisfying.

Often called the funniest farce ever written, Noises Off
offers a manic menagerie of itinerant actors rehearsing
a flop called Nothing’s On. Slamming doors, on- and
offstage intrigue, and an errant herring all figure into
the plot of this hilarious story. “The most dexterously
realized comedy ever about putting on a comedy. A
spectacularly funny, peerless backstage farce. This
dizzy, well-known romp is [a] festival of delirium.” -- The
New York Times. Winner of the Laurence Olivier Award
for Best Play and a Tony Award nominee, Noises Off will
leave you breathless with laughter.
