Evergreen NEWSLETTER
October 2014
President’s Message
What a fantastic Oktoberfest season for the Evergreen.
The weather was not fully cooperative but the crowds came
anyway. Old and new friends enjoyed our beautiful property, the great music, the very best food and drinks! We have
a milestone to celebrate. August 2014 was the best financial month that the Evergreen has ever had. The crowds
that came for Alex Meixner were celebratory and, once
again, had a really great evening. Berks History center
booked their Magical History Tour, Chapter Two on August
23rd, and despite the downpours, everyone was mellow
and happy and stayed the entire time. It was more crowded that day than when Alex was here! Most of the guests
were non-members and were positively impressed by the
facility and the openness of our members. We certainly put
our best foot forward that day.
We have made a concerted effort to communicate with
our neighbors to establish dialogue with those few who are
not members. They are very happy with us and we have
solidified our relationship with all to ensure we are all on
the same page. We thank them for all the positive comments we received this summer. Truly, we are blessed.
We are sponsoring a bus trip to the Oktoberfest presented by Gisela Lewis and the Trump Taj Mahal. It is Sunday
October 26, and features an all-star line-up. If you call the
club and leave your name and phone number, you can
secure a seat.
Thank you all for your support and enthusiasm these
past few months. Truly, the Evergreen is a great Berks
County institution! Have a wonderful October.
Carol
