INTRODUCTION
The Kishore Doshi Scholarship Scheme (KDSS) is funded by R. K. Doshi & Co., Chartered
Accountants, located at 2nd Floor, Aditya Centre, Opposite Phulchhab Chowk, Rajkot – 360001,
for the objective as outlined in the section below. The scheme is open to all without any bias of
gender, caste, and skills. Each calendar year, a maximum of 10 scholarships shall be granted
subject to receipt of applications adhering to the principles laid out in this document. Where
more than ten applications are received, KDSS on a best-estimate basis will approve only ten of
them.
OBJECTIVE
The scheme has been initiated keeping in view the financial background of the students
who aspire to achieve the degree of chartered accountancy but are unable to self-sponsor their
expenditure incurred on pursuing studies of Chartered Accountancy. The criteria for determining
candidates who deserve to be granted the scholarship, the most, has been outlined in the
section below.

The applicant should be registered as a student with the Rajkot Branch of ICAI and
having a permanent and correspondence address in Rajkot
The applicant is having a family income of less than INR 1,20,000 p.a. Family income
includes gross total income of the applicant along with his parents and the guardian.
The applicant is appearing for one or both groups of Intermediate or IPCC exams or
one or both groups of Final exams. For the avoidance of doubts, it is clarified that
this scheme is NOT intended for students who have not cleared CPT exams.
A maximum of 10 scholarships shall be granted each calendar year, on a first-come
first serve basis, amongst other criteria
Failure to comply with one or more of the stated eligibility criteria shall render the
application invalid, i.e. the aforementioned criteria should be met before making an
application.
NATURE OF HELP AVAILABLE UNDER THE SCHEME
The tenure of fellowship will be 12 months or till the time the applicant successfully passes
out the Final exams, whichever is earlier. All the approved applicants will be granted a
scholarship of INR 12,000, payable in four instalments, i.e. INR 3,000 per quarter. The
scholarship shall be credited into the bank account of the applicant on the beginning of each
quarter. If the situation requires, the scheme proposed under KDSS is subject to change
immediately notwithstanding anything contained otherwise in this document & without any
further notice.

PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATION
Applications should be submitted no later than 20th October, 2014 in the format as
prescribed in Annexure-I. The list of documents to be submitted along with the application has
been outlined in Annexure-II. Please note that incomplete applications will be out rightly
rejected and shall not be subject to any further review by us. Only once the application is
thoroughly compiled, the entire set of documents should be posted for our review and
verification to the following address:

KDSS shall review the application, request for more documents where it deems fit, and then
approve the scholarship where the application meets the eligibility criteria stated above.
In the event of any wilful commitment of fraud, misrepresentation of facts or in
circumstances where the candidate has withdrawn his intentions to pursue Chartered
Accountancy or appear for the proposed Intermediate/IPCC exams and still continues to receive
the scholarship, serious actions will be taken against the applicant and all scholarships earlier
granted shall stand annulled. KDSS, if it feels appropriate, may also notify ICAI if such an instance
is being found to have taken place.

ANNEXURE - II
LIST OF DOCUMENTS – TO BE SUBMITTED ALONG WITH APPLICATION FORM
1. If applicable, latest income-tax return of the applicant’s father, mother and the guardian
or Salary certificate, where applicable, of the applicant’s father. In case pay slip for father
is not available, then a certificate from the regional Corporator certifying the eligibility is
required
