RULES, REGULATIONS AND INFORMATION
General Information:

Rules and Regulations:
1.
Smoking is prohibited in the Arena, Barns and Stalls
2.
Appliances such as coffee makers, microwaves, refrigerators, space heaters, etc. are
absolutely prohibited in the stall area. No lights may be plugged into above stall
electrical receptacles. No sleeping in stalls.
3.
Shavings and hay are available for purchase exclusively from the South Point
Equestrian Center. Shavings are $10.00 per bag. No outside shavings will be allowed.
4.
No straw is allowed in the stalls.
5.
No glass bottles or glasses are allowed in stall area.
6.
No outside food or beverage allowed in stall area or arena.
7.
No weapons of any type are allowed on property.
8.
All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
9.
Riders must lead horses in the stall area at all times.
10.
It is the policy of the South Point that pets (i.e. dogs, cats, etc) are not allowed on
property. We do, however understand that it is sometimes necessary for a pet to
accompany a horse for travel. If this happens, your pet must be confined to a stall, or
if with its owner, it must be on a leash not more than 6 feet in length. No unattended
dogs will be allowed outside of the stall. No dogs will be allowed in the Hotel. It is the
responsibility of the pet owner to dispose of animal waste in the appropriately labeled
trash bins. If possible, please leave your dogs at home.
11.
Horses are confined to the barn, stall and dirt practice areas only. Absolutely no riding
will be permitted in any parking lot at the South Point facility.
12.
No spray painting, hoof black or hoof dressing should be applied to horse hooves in
stall area and/or barns without floor protection.

13.
Please do not clean stalls directly into the aisles. Gondolas are provided at the end of
each aisle.
14.
Please do not clean trailers directly onto the parking lots.
15.
Biohazard containers are available and must be used for the disposal of all biohazard
materials and needles. Please do not place needles in the trash receptacles or on the
floor.
16.
Cork Boards are available for display of flyers, post, etc. Signs posted on any other
surface will be removed and any damage from placing or removing the sign will be
invoiced to the Show Manager. No stapling, no taping, no nailing and no sticking of
any objects to the stall walls.
17.
South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged
property. Please contact hotel Security for lost and found.
18.
No obstructions may be kept or stored in the stall aisles including furniture, chairs,
carts, tack boxes, etc. Stall decorations must be fire retardant.
19.
Equestrian participants enter the arena and practice areas at their own risk.
NEVADA EQUINE TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS:
What you will need to know and have when entering and exiting the State of Nevada with
horses:
1.
A current Livestock Health Certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian.
2.
A Coggins Test performed within the previous 6 months.
It is the responsibility of the Show Producer and the horse owner to insure that the Health
requirements are met. South Point Equestrian & Event Center assumes no responsibility for
the administration of check-in or health procedures.
Shuttle Services:
For your convenience, the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa offers a scheduled shuttle to and
from McCarran Airport free of charge. These shuttles are reserved for the use of hotel guests
only.
If you are planning on using the Airport Shuttle, we ask that you please call for reservations.
Reservations can be made prior to your trip by calling toll-free at 1-866-796-7111 (ask for
shuttle reservations), or by contacting the Bell Desk. Please be advised that seating is limited
and only those with reservations will be allowed to board.
The Airport Shuttle from McCarran Airport has the South Point logo on the sides of the
shuttle and pick-up is at Ground (or Level) Zero. The Airport Shuttle from the South Point
Hotel picks up in Valet parking lot which is located at the East entrance of the Hotel.

SHOW RULES AND REGULATIONS
1.
Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the
current USEF rule book will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith.
2.
Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all
classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level
or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage,
Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may
participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at
Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining
Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 Show
Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements
of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H
members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to
horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de
deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions; 8)
Opportunity classes; 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of
current membership in good standing of their own National Federation; 10) USEA
beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse
Breeding classes.
3.
The Rated Sections of this Competition are official USEF point competitions for the
USEF Federation and USEF/ZONE 10 Horse of the Year Awards Program.
4.
The Horse Show Executive Committee reserves the right to itself, to interpret all
questions and conditions in regard to, or arising out of, or incident to, the show without
claims for damages or recourse of any kind. Any questions not covered in these rules
and regulations shall be decided by the Horse Show Executive Committee, their decision
is final. The Horse Show Executive Committee to include the President and Vice
President of the California Saddle Horse Breeders Association, Horse Show Manager,
Horse Show Secretary and an Attorney.
5.
HACKNEY PONIES must be registered with the American Hackney Horse Society
and/or the Canadian Hackney Society. They must be entered in their full registered
names, with registration numbers and under the name of the owner(s) of record with the
AHHS or CHS. A copy of the registration papers, showing proof of ownership must be
submitted with the entry form. Ponies may not be shown in Harness or Roadster Pony
classes unless the owner possesses a current measurement card or valid measurement
form issued by the USEF. All Open Roadster Ponies must be re-measured and issued
new measurement cards prior to competing in recognized competitions for the year 2006
and beyond (effective 3/1/04). Please send Copies with your entry form if you have been
re-measured since 2006. Exhibitors, trainers and owners must be a member of the USEF
or pay a non-member fee. Trainers and owners must be members of AHHS. Copies of
current membership cards are required.
6.
AMERICAN SADDLEBRED HORSES must be registered with the American
Saddlebred Registry or the Canadian American Saddle Horse Registry. They must be
entered in their full registered names with registration numbers and under the names of
the owner(s) of record. A copy of the registration papers showing proof of ownership or
Certificate of Eligibility to show must be submitted with entry form at the time of
making entry or presented to competition office before competition number will be
released. Exhibitors, trainers and owners must be a member of the USEF or pay a nonmember fee. Trainers and owners must be current members in good standing with the
American Saddlebred Horse Association. Copies of current membership cards are
required.

7.
MORGAN HORSES shown in this division must be registered with the American
Morgan Horse Association, Inc. or the Canadian Morgan Horse Association, or the
British Morgan Horse Society. They must be entered under their full registered name
and under the names of the owner(s) or lessee of record with the AMHA, CMHA or
BMHS. Stripping for conformation is not required. Exhibitors, trainers and owners must
be a member of the USEF or pay a non-member fee. Exhibitors, trainers and owners
must be members of AMHA. Copies of current membership cards and horse
registration papers showing current ownership are required.
8.
The Carriage Pleasure Driving Division of this horse show will be run in accordance
with the Carriage Pleasure Driving Section of the USEF Rule Book CP100-429. This
division is open to all breeds. Not a Costume Class. The Carriage Pleasure Driving
Division has a Recognized, Non-Rated Classification. It is classified as “N” to allow any
entrant, USEF member or not, to compete. Exhibitors, trainers and owners must be a
member of the USEF or pay a $30 single event show pass fee.
9.
All entries are accepted with the understanding that the California Saddle Horse Futurity
Horse Show, the South Point Hotel, Casino & Equestrian Center will not be held
responsible for any loss, damage or injury to any horse exhibited or any article of any
kind. All horses shall be under the control and direction of the Show Committee but
solely at the risk of the exhibitor, who will be responsible for any loss, damage or injury
to any person, animal or property occasioned to him, his agents or employees, or by any
animal owned or exhibited by him, and shall indemnify the California Saddle Horse
Futurity Horse Show, South Point Hotel, Casino & Equestrian Center against any and all
loss, damage and liability thus occasioned including but not limited to any and all legal
costs, including attorney fees, which may be incurred as a result thereof. The submitting
of an entry form shall constitute an acceptance by each person of the provisions herein
set forth.
10. All owners and exhibitors will be held responsible for any damage incurred by them or
their agents to barns or South Point Hotel, Casino & Equestrian Center properties and
will be billed accordingly.
11. The California Saddle Horse Futurity Horse Show reserves the right to refuse or accept
conditionally, or to cancel any entries, and cancel award prizes, without claim for
damages.
12. The California Saddle Horse Futurity Horse Show reserves the right to cancel
and/or combine classes with insufficient entries, and will combine classes
specifically as prescribed in the class specifications.
13. The California Saddle Horse Futurity Horse Show reserves the privilege of substituting
or changing judges if it becomes necessary. The judges’ decisions in the show ring are
their own responsibility and the Show Committee accepts no responsibility for these
decisions.
14. Entries will be considered acceptable if they are:
1) Properly signed, by the owner, trainer and rider, and, in the case of a minor, signed by
a parent or guardian.
2) Made on an entry blank provided by the Show.
3) Showing correct mailing address of owner.
4) ACCOMPANIED BY A MINIMUM PAYMENT THAT COVERS THE STALLS
AND HORSE FEES. PAYMENT MAY BE MADE BY CHECK OR CREDIT CARD
AUTHORIZATION.

5) ACCOMPANIED BY CURRENT REGISTRATION PAPERS AND COPIES OF
ALL USEF MEMBERSHIP AND ALL BREED MEMBERSHIP CARDS, AS
APPLICABLE.
15. Entries close October 18, 2014. Do not mail after this date. Post Entries may be
accepted with penalty at the show office. Stall Reservations must be made by the closing
of entries, October 18th. Stalls may be reserved by calling Kevin Michael at (520) 9776051 or email at [email protected] AN ENTRY FORM FOR STALLS ONLY
MAY BE MAILED TO SHOW SECRETARY WITH PAYMENT.
16. Stabling. Stalls will not be available until NOON, MONDAY, OCTOBER 27th. Stalls
must be vacated by 10:00 a.m., Sunday, November 2nd. Reminder – Included in the stall
fee are 4 bales of shavings – already delivered to each stall ordered and paid for.
17. Cancellation or Substitution of Entries. Exhibitors canceling their entries for any reason
other than illness of horse or rider after the official entry closing date shall forfeit entry
and stall fees. In case of illness, a Veterinarian or Doctor Certificate is required before
close of show, whereby entry fee and stall fee will be refunded, less a $25.00 office fee.
Where exhibitors or trainers wish to make a change in entries in any class, they are
required to follow the procedure of scratching the existing entry and making a new entry
with the Show Secretary’s office. Such changes shall be treated as post entries and
charged the post entry fee. In the event of the sale or injury to a horse (Veterinarian’s
Certificate required), exhibitors may post enter another horse in the same class at the
rate of $5.00 per class.
18. Changes. Care should be taken to enter animal in its proper class. Sex and age of horses
must be correctly stated, as well as the correct date of birth of Junior riders. Exhibitors
are responsible for their errors and those of their agents in making out entry blanks. Any
changes will be charged for at the rate of $5 per class. In all classes, the description on
the entry blank must fully identify horses. The word “entry” will not be accepted.
19. Scratches and Rider Changes. All scratches and rider changes MUST be made in the
Horse Show Office no later than 2 hours prior to start of Performance.
20. Championship Entries. To be eligible, horses must qualify in class as noted in list of
classes. No Post Entry Fee will be charged on any Championship/Stake Class.
21. USEF Amateur Certification. Every person who has reached his 18th birthday and
competes in classes for amateurs under USEF rules must possess current amateur
certification issued by the Federation. This certification must be available for inspection
or the competitor must have lodged with the Show Secretary, at least one hour prior to
such class, an application for such certification provided by the Federation.
22. RV Facilities. Overnight facilities may be available in the Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort.
For direct reservations, phone: 1-800-566-4707. There are NO RV facilities at South
Point. Mention Futurity Horse Show and South Point Equestrian Facility when making
reservations.
23. Leashed dogs, or other pets, are permitted only in the barn area and absolutely no dogs
or other pets will be permitted in any part of the hotel or elevators on South Point
property. Animals not held to these rules will be impounded by South Point and turned
over to animal control.
24. Hay, grain and additional bedding will be available on the grounds at reasonable and
competitive prices. No bedding may be brought onto the grounds. Payment for
additional feed and bedding will be paid directly to the South Point Feed Office in the
barn area. Credit cards only. (Feed Bill may be added to Room Bill).

25. Food and beverages will be available during horse show performances, both in the horse
show arena or from any of the other restaurants in the hotel.
26. QUESTIONS, DISPUTES and PROTESTS. All protests and questions not covered by
these rules shall be decided and interpreted by the Competition Committee, whose
decision shall be final. Disputes should be presented to the Show Manager prior to filing
a formal protest under the provisions of the USEF Rule GR 603.
27. There will be a penalty of $50.00 if a check is refused by the bank for any reason. No
checks will be processed through the bank a second time, and must be covered by a
money order, cashier’s check or cash, in addition to the penalty.
28. No competition numbers will be released by the Show Office until all entry forms are
complete, all necessary registration papers and measurement cards have been seen, and
payment in full has been received by the Show Office. A SIGNED OPEN CHECK, OR
CREDIT CARD MUST BE LEFT WITH THE SHOW OFFICE FOR FEES
INCURRED DURING THE SHOW.
29. The winner of a leg on a Challenge Trophy or a Perpetual Trophy is entitled to
possession of the trophy for a period of 10 months from date of winning. The winner is
responsible for protection and care of the trophy while in his possession. The winner
will return the trophy engraved and polished. A receipt must be signed by the winner
prior to taking possession of the trophy. Two months prior to the next show, the trophy
must be returned.
30. Prize money will be paid by check and mailed within 30 days.
31. Arena Footing is clay and sand and is properly maintained to the specifications of the
Saddlebred Division. Stalls are 10’ by 10’. Arena is 125’ by 250’
32. MOTORIZED VEHICLES - Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which
allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be
permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf
carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of
licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the
above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a
valid driver’s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the
entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in
violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions
resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against
the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing
the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or
trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges
being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6.
Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are
exempt for this rule.
