OCT. 20 - Trainings in Pastoral Care Zion Pastoral Care Chairperson Laurie Stibbards has prepared a series of 3 Trainings in Pastoral Care on Mondays in October - 6th, 20th, 27th at Zion United Church at 2:00pm. It is focused on learning to listen more deeply without our own agendas getting in the way. It also explores how we can deepen conversations into the most important issues – where God dwells. The theme for this gathering is ‘Ministry and Personnel Committee education’. A workshop will be held from 7 – 9pm and all M&P Committee members are invited to attend. The next episode of the series, Years of Living Dangerously, deals with global deforestation: where it is happening, the causes and the consequences. There will also be a short presentation focussing on deforestation in Canada. The Enviro-cafe is a partnership between Highland Hills P.C. (Outreach), Minden United and Environment Hal’n! The United Church of Canada is appealing to us to help the Mission and Service Fund respond to the Ebola crisis in Africa with our prayers and donations.
