But their real target was breast cancer. Diane McClearen of Johns Creek was one of five shotgun winners at the recent Walton EMC Charity Shoot. Entrants also took home plaques, knives and numerous door prizes as they helped raise money for breast cancer programs. Watch for the announcement of next year’s shoot to be held in mid-August. Held at Cherokee Rose Gun Club, a world-class sporting clays venue, the shoot drew 32 teams from across Georgia that competed for prizes and enjoyed a barbeque lunch. Proceeds from the event go to the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer and stay inside the state. Funds help provide screening, early detection, counseling, education and support services to those battling the disease. In only its fourth year, the annual Charity Sporting Clays Shoot organized by Walton EMC employees has raised more than $45,000.
