Understanding Your Medicare Options
Upon becoming 65 years
of age, you will likely
begin receiving multiple
packets and phone calls
offering information
about your Medicare
options. The basic tips
below can help you more
easily select a lifelong,
worry-free plan that best
fits your particular needs.
Understanding Medicare
Medicare Part A
(Hospital Insurance) Part A covers inpatient hospital stays, care in a skilled
nursing facility, hospice care,
and some home health care.
Medicare Part B
(Medical Insurance) - Part B
covers certain doctors’ services,
outpatient care, medical supplies,
and preventive services.
Medicare Part C
(Medicare Advantage Plans) - A
Medicare Advantage Plan is a type
of Medicare health plan offered by a
private company that contracts with
Medicare to provide you with all
your Part A and Part B benefits.
Medicare Part D

Before Considering
Medicare Advantage
Before considering Medicare
Advantage or other coverage other
than Traditional Medicare, or
before Adding additional Coverage,
consider these 8 points:
Coverage: How well does the plan
cover the services you need?
Your other coverage: If you have
other types of health or prescription
drug coverage, make sure you
understand how that coverage
works with Medicare.
Costs: How much are your premiums,
deductibles, and other costs? Is there
a yearly limit on what you could pay
out-of-pocket for medical services?
Doctor and hospital choice: Do your
doctors accept the coverage? Do you
have to choose your hospital and
health care providers from a network?
Prescription drugs: Do you need to join
a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan?
Will you pay a penalty if you join a
drug plan later? What will your prescription drugs cost under each plan?
Quality of care: Are you satisfied with
your medical care?
Convenience: Where are the doctor’s
offices? Can you get your prescriptions
by mail? Is the pharmacy you use in
the plan’s network?
Travel: Will the plan cover you if
you travel to another state or outside
the U.S.?
Know the Facts About
Medicare Advantage
It’s important to get balanced information before considering a Medicare
Advantage Plan. Do not rely only on
the company or representative who is
selling you the policy. Seek information from a third party.

Departmental Discussions
Our Legacy residents, along with
residents from sister campuses,
Citation and Cedar Ridge, joined the
ranks of more than 40,000 visitors to
tour the Kentucky Railway Museum in
New Haven. Upon arriving, residents
enjoyed a delicious picnic lunch while
taking in the scenery. Following
lunch, residents toured the museum
learning the fascinating story of the
people who built the railroad as told
through the exploration of numerous
historical artifacts. It was goose
bumps all around as the whistle of
the locomotive that started it all, the
L&N 152, sounded while residents
boarded for an hour long ride through
the Rolling Fork River Valley. It was
an exciting and educational trip that
culminated in a good night’s sleep!
So long dog days of summer...we
at the Willows of Hamburg are
ready to welcome the cool, crisp
October weather with exciting fall
events and outings. As always, we
encourage you to visit and savor
a delicious Sunday brunch (2nd
Sunday of the month), enjoy live
entertainment and participate in
activities with your loved ones.
We always have something new
on the horizon!
In this spirit, we are also excited
to announce that we are now
offering LifeShare technology in
our campus allows each resident
to receive messages from family
and friends sent via e-mail, text
messaging, and even Facebook
posts. Messages can include
text, pictures, and videos. Best of
all, they can be viewed in a very
simple format on the resident’s
own television.
In the meantime, feel free to visit
www.lifesharetechnologies.com
for further details.
We would also like to thank you
all for taking time to complete the
Customer Satisfaction Surveys that
were mailed out the end of August.
These provide us with invaluable
feedback that allows us to continue to provide the very best care
for your loved ones, in addition to
responding to areas of opportunity.
Lastly, be sure to check out all
the fun fall festivities that we are
planning at the campus. We hope
to see you there!
Live a Dream: Biking
Through the Bluegrass!
Rose D. recently experienced her ride of a lifetime!
Rose's Live a dream wish was to ride a motorcycle
through the Bluegrass with her friends. The Willows’ own team member and fellow biker enthusiast
Tiffany grabbed more friends and joined Rose in
her adventure. In all, 5 motorcycles and 7 cyclists
savored the experience. Most of Rose's family and
loved ones were here at the campus to send her off
on her ride, capturing the event on video for posterity. Rose was on her ride for a good 2 hours, covering
over 70 miles through the countryside, even riding
past Rose's house and farm. Our happy dreamer
and her comrades made a quick pit stop in Centerville, KY to meet up with even more bikers who
wanted to share in Rose’s Live A Dream. She
made quite the impression, and has even been invited back for future rides with her new biker friends!
