IDEAS LABS PROPOSAL FROM SLOVENIA
TITLE: IDEAS  ITITIATIVES  CHANGES
SUMMARY: Our idea aims to create supporting mechanism which will allow ideas from
young people to be developed in concrete initiatives and will lead into action and real
changes in society. It will focus on real needs of young people, also proposed by non-formal
groups, but the idea will be implemented in cooperation with schools, NGOs and local
authorities.
DESCRIPTION:
Young people often have ideas on how to make a change, but do they have the means and
opportunities to implement them?
The Ideas-Initiative-Changes programme/mechanism is meant to encourage young people to
put their ideas for better community into actions in order to make changes.
Informal groups of young people will think about the needs in their community or in the
society in general. Based on their ideas, they will create an initiative that will lead to the
results. The initiative will be made in cooperation with local schools, NGOs and local
community. The participants will gain lots of social and project management skills. They will
understand the importance of team work and cooperation with different actors. With
supporting the real implementation of the ideas and initiatives, young people will recognise
that changes can be made and they can play an active role in bringing those changes to the
society.
The project will also promote the importance of voluntarism, non-formal education and
active citizenship.
But most of all young people will learn that they can be a part of changes and be responsible
for a better world.
With established mechanism support will be given especially to non-formal groups of young
people who are not necessarily involved in youth organisations yet, and it will address the
real needs that will be expressed by young people themselves.
