SECRET SANTA MAKING THE HOLIDAYS BRIGHTER ONE CHILD AT A TIME

SECRET SANTA
MAKING THE HOLIDAYS BRIGHTER
ONE CHILD AT A TIME
How would you, your department, club, team, class, group of friends or family like to brighten the life of a
child this holiday season? You can make this holiday extra-special for an underprivileged child in our
community by agreeing to be a Secret Santa. Sponsoring a child in the Secret Santa program costs
approximately $150 per child. This money can come from you or from a team of individuals. Becoming a
Secret Santa is simple:
1. Fill out the bottom of this form and send a copy of it to Peter Geddeis or Linda Heilenbach in the
Student Activities Office by Friday, November 16 (earlier if possible). Once you turn this form in,
you or your group have committed to sponsoring a child (or children!)
2. Shortly after returning this form, the LTHS Student Council will send you a letter with the name and
age of the child you will be sponsoring and a wish list of items to purchase for that child. You will
also receive a large brown lawn bag that you will be asked to put your gifts in.
3. Go shopping! Gifts need to be purchased and dropped off at the Student Activities Office (South
Campus Room C123, North Campus Room 4) or the North Campus Main Office by Monday,
November 26. Please put all of your gifts in the brown lawn bag and write the code number and
name of your child in large letters on the outside of the bag.
That’s all there is to it. Student Council members will then deliver the packages to the Community Nurse
Health Association where gifts will be wrapped and delivered to children’s homes for the holidays.
LT sponsors more than 100 children every year, and we look forward to continuing this wonderful tradition.
Please consider becoming a Secret Santa or talking with your students, team, club or other group about
going in on sponsoring a child. On the back of this sheet is some additional information about the Secret
Santa Program. Thank you for your time and consideration of this worthwhile initiative.
Sincerely,
The LTHS Student Council

WHAT IS SECRET SANTA?
What is Secret Santa?
Secret Santa was founded in 1988 by mother and daughter Betty Kalber and Kathy Kinsella. Several years
ago they joined forces with the Community Nurse Health Association. The totally volunteer staff works
throughout the year stocking “Santa’s Workshop” to provide underprivileged children in the community
with new clothing, school supplies, books, educational games and toys.
Mission
To provide basic functional necessities for children whose parents have limited funds. In many cases, new
clothing, books, school supplies and toys are unheard of luxuries for these families.
Objective
To provide each child with items to sustain them through the winter season and the remaining school year.
Our program also supports the needs of these children year-round, should their families find themselves in
crisis. We also focus on the special needs of children who are physically or mentally challenged.
