Bill furthers the organization’s mission through leading the chapter’s
disaster preparedness initiatives, emergency relief efforts, services to
members of the armed forces and their families. Bill has over 2
decades of experience and leadership in San Diego’s business
community, as well as over 24 years at McKenna Long & Aldridge
(formerly Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps). Bill’s varied background include experience as a sportscaster on television, radio and
internet, political aide and legal extern in the U.S. Senate, a threetime Ironman triathlete, and dedicated community advocate.
Shelley Zimmerman/Chief, San Diego Police Department
Started with the SD Police Department in October 1982 and recently
promoted to Chief. Holds a degree in Criminal Justice from The Ohio
State University and is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy,
FBINA #241. Chief Zimmerman has worked many of the San Diego
Police Department’s patrol commands including prior assignments in
Vice, Narcotics, Internal Affairs, Multi-Cultural Community Relations
Office, the Mayor’s Executive Protection Detail, the Narcotics Task
Force and the Field Lieutenant position.
