A love letter from Mummy and Daddy. Dear Ella Our little princess, we love you.. On the 10th January, the day we arrived in Moranbah, we found out we were pregnant with you. I lay awake all night as I was just too excited to sleep. On the 8th May I discovered I was going to have a baby girl and it was just one of the greatest days of my life. On the 16th September I gave birth to you and it was absolutely beautiful. I remember just being amazed by how perfect you were. You looked just like Daddy’s girl with that amazing head of hair. On the 29th November we lost you. We will always wonder why you were only here for 2.5 months, and while it seems so painful now, we will never ever regret having you in our lives. You are an absolute gift. We take comfort in these words right now ”We are given many precious gifts as we go through life. Some we are allowed to enjoy for a long time… others only briefly. But each gift has the power to change us, enrich us and make us better human beings” We will miss so many things about you, Ella Grace. Your beautiful smile, your little giggle and the bond we shared when I fed you. We are desperately missing your cry as loud as it was! You were so peaceful, graceful and such a pleasure to have in our lives for a short period of time. Your Daddy loves you so much and misses you terribly. You were his little Ella Kazoo. Daddy loved fussing over you while he changed your nappies, bathed you and rocked you to sleep. He didn’t even mind walking you around the block over his shoulder when you insisted you didn’t want to be in the pram. Your brother Lachlan just adores you and still asks for you. Just yesterday he said “Mummy, Daddy, Ella”. He knows how special you are to us. We have told him you went to a beautiful place and I think he thinks you must be in the ocean or at Australia Zoo. Remember how much he loved dancing to the Wiggles Safari DVD with Steve Irwin. I’m sure when he is old enough to understand where you are he will ask if you have met Steve in heaven. Although Lachlan drove you nuts poking and prodding your eyes and nose, he was just absolutely taken by you and he wanted to cuddle you all day long. He seemed to think his name was Gentle because we said it to him so much each time he played with you. To those people who met you they were just amazed by how beautiful and peaceful you were. To those people who didn’t get to meet you in this short life of yours, I’m sure they will feel comfort in knowing what a little angel you are. Ella Grace, please remember that you are dearly loved and will continue to be. You were born into a beautiful family and you will always be remembered. Each Christmas, birthday, the day you were due to start school and your 21st birthday. Just like a beautiful angel you have come into our lives to show us all the greatest love we will ever know. You have reminded us all what is the most important part of life. It’s not money and material possessions. Just love in its purest form. We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the love and support we have been shown by family and friends - people from all over Australia. You are missed by so many people, many whom you have never met. Your short life has made an impact on so many people, most importantly ours. Here’s a few words about love that we find strength in right now: “We are not born fluent in love but spend our life learning about it. Its energy is pure power. We are as attracted to love as we are intimidated by it. We are motivated by love, controlled by it, inspired by it, healed by it, and destroyed by it. Love is the fuel of our physical and spiritual bodies. Each of life’s challenges is a lesson in some aspect of love”. You will always be our daughter and a special part of our family. Our baby girl, Ella Grace, we love you. Love Mummy and Daddy
