Here and There with the
Group...Tim Knox
“Last Sunday night at the Teenage Bible Study held at New Union
Church of Christ, John Nichols
delivered a message about bringing those outside of Christ into the
Church. He used as his text the
parable of “The Good Samaritan.”
He spoke about “The Good Samaritan’s” legacy. He mentioned that
just last year there were over 1,000
different news headlines across
the United States that were headlined something about a “Good
Samaritan.” These were obviously all stories about people doing
great deeds for others they don’t
know. Are we a “Good Samaritan”
church? Do we seek out situations
to do good to those outside the
Family of God? May we all strive
to look at everyone around us with
the eyes of that “Good Samaritan” we read about in God’s word.
That will bring glory indeed to the
church and ultimately to God.”

Think
About...
Have you ever thought about what
drives you to be obedient to God?
Is it fear, gratitude, obligation, or
perhaps love? I know that in the
beginning of my Christian walk I
was compelled mostly by fear. I
was scared of the consequences
that would follow if I chose not
to follow God. Over the years
this has changed drastically. My
obedience now comes more from
love and gratitude for what God
has done for me. Although we
should always have a reverent fear
of God, I believe following God
through love and not obligation
yields
far
greater
results.

Walking Through The Theodrama
We left off last week with Jesus
the Christ, “Eschaton” in the flesh
(John 1:14; John 14:8, 9; Matt.
12:23-28). He is the word of God
incarnate, He is the exact representation, or image of the invisible
God (John 1:17, 18; Heb. 1:3). He
is the future in the present. He
is the in-breaking of the kingdom
of God into human history. “Eschaton”, what is this? This is the
future culmination of heaven interlocking with earth, or humanity is
with God forever. It is the “New
heavens and new earth” (Rev. 21).
