PRINCIPAL’S UPDATES 10/27/14 THANK YOU - To the Home & School Association under the leadership of President, Michele McGinty and her mother for a fa-boo-lous Haunted School on Friday! The Drama students and Drama teacher, Ms. Weinraub did an awesome job, and I can imagine how exhausted they must have been by the end of the night. We had close to 200 guests in attendance. Thank you to all of the parents who helped set up, donated items, did make-up, sold concessions, cleaned up, and who brought their families and friends out for a great time! CONGRATULATIONS AND GOOD LUCK - To our Lady Griffins Volleyball Team as they take on Masterman for the District XII AA Championship on Monday, 10/27 at CCP. Please come out and cheer the ladies on at the college’s Athletics Center located between the Pavillion and Winnet buildings on 17th Street off Spring Garden. We know Masterman will be out in full force, so hopefully lots of us will be able to come out and support our girls! The game begins at 5:00 PM. NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY induction will be on Tuesday, 10/28 during a 1-hour advisory. Tenth and 11th grade students will be in attendance to witness the induction of these well-deserving students to this prestigious organization. There will be a small reception for families of inductees following the ceremony. PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST is well underway! Each advisory is working to create the most creative pumpkin without carving. If you have items to donate to the pumpkins, please send them in! PARADE OF HORRORS - Our annual Halloween parade will take place on Friday, 10/31 at 8:00 am. Students must sign up in their advisory by 10/29 in order to compete. FAREWELL AND GOOD LUCK - To Mr. Chris Alvarez as he enters a new season in life. We wish him and his family the best in Seattle! We greatly appreciate his contributions to several junior classes and the Griffin Gazette school newspaper over the past six years. He will be greatly missed!
