Letter to the Editor (edited)
A few months ago the flags above our sign at The Hidden Gem
Restaurant disappeared. I did not really expect the flags
would remain on the sign but hoped for the best.
After their disappearance, I gathered the local youngsters and
asked them to please work their magic and make the flags
come back. We discussed that they were respected when they
come to the restaurant, how much we appreciated their improved behavior, and that the disappearance of the flags was
just a small step back. We also discussed the importance
of our flag and how much the flag means to me personally. I added that no questions would be asked since everyone
makes mistakes.
John, my cook, mentioned there seemed to be a flag under the
mailbox where a newspaper would be put. I asked him to retrieve it. He came back with 2 flags the same two flags missing so many months ago! Who knows how long they have been
there. Thank you kids, and keep on making good decisions.
Be a good neighbor-if you see something that
seems suspicious or just seems off to you call 9-1
-1 and report it immediately. Waiting till the next
day, or after the weekend wastes valuable time,
and could put your neighbor’s property or life at
risk. SEE SOMETHING SAY SOMETHING!! Do
not wait. As always lock your vehicles, home and
shed to prevent unwanted intrusion and theft.
For Police services, except an emergency, please
call the 24 hour dispatch number at 410-4765005. In an EMERGENCY, ALWAYS CALL 9-11 For confidential info, call me direct at 410-8290613.
