PADSTOW HEIGHTS PUBLIC SCHOOL
NEWSLETTER
From the Principal
Congratulations to our band for their excellent
performance on Saturday at McHappy Day. Thank
you to Miss Clay and Mr Hunt who made sure they
were there to support them and to make sure that
all ran smoothly. They looked very professional in
their new band shirts.
Last night I attended The Bankstown Dance
Festival. What a wonderful evening! The boys and
girls looked very striking in their costumes and
their items were full of excitement. They clearly
showed their commitment to practice and rehearsal.
They also showed perfect behaviour behind the
scenes at the festival while they waited. I am a very
proud principal!

Congratulations to Charlize Rice who took part in
the State Athletics Carnival last week. On a
miserably cold and wet day she competed in the
100m. She didn’t make it to the final but it is still
impressive to be one of the top 40 9 year old
runners in NSW!

Boys T-Ball– The team played Revesby PS and won
20 –14
Girls Junior T-Ball The girls won again 22-19!
Fantastic effort was made by Tahlia and Caitlin B on
their homeruns, as well as by the player of the match,
Esther, for catching three fly balls. Well done to
everyone!
Girls Senior Softball The game that got away! Padstow Heights played an excellent 1st innings, leading 90. Some great tagging by Sasha (as well as a home
run) put us into a great position. Unfortunately Revesby
South came back, and got the runs back quickly from
loaded bases. In the end the girls lost 16-14, but it
was their best game by far. Keep it up girls, the
win will come soon!

It was a cold and windy afternoon at fishing last
Friday but that did not effect the students’
enthusiasm for trying to catch fish. It was great
to see all of our students dressing sensibly and
being cautious of their own and others’ safety in
the tricky weather conditions. No fish were
caught last week so better luck this week.
