Trace Sulfur Analyzer
Models 4030/4430
• Analysis: beverage-grade CO2 and other bulk gases, plus
polymer-grade ethylene and propylene gas
• Uses a photoionization detector (PID) and sulfur
chemiluminescence detector (SCD)
Key Features
• Meets: ASTM D5504
• The SCD features an equimolar response to sulfur
compounds and requires simple calibration
• Guaranteed detection levels (based on individual components without
interference from neighboring peaks):
SCD channel
Min (ppb)
• Dual capillary-column solution
All sulfur compounds
PID channel
• Can be modified with an FID to analyze alcohols, ketones
and other hydrocarbons in samples (Model 4038)
• Model 4430 includes permeation-tube calibration chamber
• Mounts on top of the analyzer for easy access
• Manual valve is used to select the calibration chamber or
the sample input
• Permeation tubes or wafers for calibration of other non-sulfur compounds
Detected Compounds
• H
ydrogen sulfide (H2S), carbonyl sulfide (COS), sulfur dioxide
(SO2) (cryogenic cooling required for COS/SO2 separation),
mercaptans, aromatic sulfur compounds, sulfides, benzene,
toluene, xylenes, ethylbenzene and other aromatics
