Our morning program establishes an environment where children begin their school day in a positive way. Parents bring their children to the Y's before school program beginning at 7:00am. Member Fee: $130 per month Non-Member Fee: $140 per month SPORTS BUGS Ages 3-5 An introduction to Sports Movement. The purpose of Sports Bugs is to help build your child’s motor skills, hand eye coordination by playing various sports and fitness activities that will help them become more physically coordinated while introducing them to the sports movement and sports culture. Sports include Tee ball, Soccer, Basketball and other age appropriate sports. Games will be modified to suit child’s age as well as athletic and physical ability. Little Sluggers teaches the basic skills using age-appropriate games and activities. Parents are encouraged to participate with their child. Volunteer coaches are needed. The participants meet for one hour each week. Children of this age are primarily visual learners and emphasis is on easy to copy moves. The content it co-created with young people and the music is drawn from their world. Swimmers are introduced to elementary backstroke and trained to swim 15yds with the proper breast stroke and dolphin kick. Endurance will be built in order to swim 50yds of back crawl and front crawl using rotary breathing. Students will refine front and back crawl with rotary breathing, elementary backstroke. Swimmers will be able to swim 25yds of breast stroke and 15yds of butterfly with open turns. In this level, swimmers will be introduced to side stroke. Each student will build endurance to swim 50ys of freestyle, backstroke, breast stroke, and 25yds of butterfly. In this level, swimmers will be introduced to flip turns and open turns. Monday & Wednesday 6:30pm Saturday 11:30am RAY Ages: 3-5 To join this level, swimmers must successfully complete Eel have the skills required to pass the previous class. Swimmers will develop skills to swim 25yds of front and back crawl, elementary backstroke, rotary breathing, rescue skills, and build endurance to tread water. Tuesday & Thursday 6:00pm Saturday 11:30am POLLIWOG Ages 6-12 This class is designed for beginner swimmers. Emphasis is placed on water orientation, basic swimming, treading water, personal safety, survival floating and confidence building. In this level, swimmers will be introduced to the basic techniques to be able to swim 25yds front and back crawl.
