SPECIAL MISSION PROJECT As many as you know, I have done missions for AMI for almost two years now. I’m going to start something new this year that I’ve wanted to do for quite some time now. I’m finally getting the chance to do what I was called to do. I was called to be the hands and feet of Christ, so sometime around Thanksgiving, I want to feed the homeless in Greenville at Project Host. During this time of year, it gets colder and the holidays are coming up. Families get together to celebrate and the homeless sit outside along the walls of Project Host in the cold. All I want to do is give them a hot hamburger. On Tuesday’s at McDonalds, hamburgers are .49 so I want to buy 200 and give each person 2 hamburgers and a bottle of water. I would love to do this all on my own, but because I’m only 15, I do not have the funds to support this and it gets very expensive. I kindly ask for your help in donations to help me with this and also for future AMI projects. There is a new account set up at our church called “Emily’s Missions”. All money donated is tax deductible and I can use this money as needed through the church. Thanks for helping me in this quest to be the hands and feet of Christ. Ed is widely known and appreciated for his gifts of combining music and spiritual teaching in worship and concert settings. Ed grew up in China, Japan and Korea where his parents were missionaries. After completing college and seminary, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia and began his career there as a United Methodist minister. As his gifts for speaking and performing became known, he was invited to serve the church-at-large as a musician and spiritual resource person, touring extensively in the Southeast and then throughout the nation. In the early 70’s Ed moved out west, making his home in the mountains of Colorado. In the late 70’s, he returned to the Southeast, this time settling in South Carolina. Ed’s wife, Kathleen, is a United Methodist minister. She works with the Master Of Arts In Practical Theology degree program on the Charlotte, NC campus of Pfeiffer University and also serves as the coordinator of the Center For Deacon Education, a partnership with Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington DC. Ed and Kathleen make their home on Manasota Key in Englewood, Florida and in the country, near Rock Hill, South Carolina.
