The goal of the Dryden Recreation and Youth Commission is to provide a high quality
of life for all town residents by assisting in facilitating opportunities to participate in
healthy and satisfying recreation and leisure activities, and supporting and increasing
access of town youth to programs that build skills, confidence, leadership, and
supportive relationships with peers and adults.
If you are interested in joining the DRYC, please contact the Town of Dryden
Recreation Office. There are currently two open seats.

Town of Dryden Recreation Department Mission:
To provide diverse recreational programs and leisure services which enhance the
physical, social and cultural growth of all residents of Dryden, while promoting citizen
involvement and a strong sense of community.

Basketball Skills and Drills
This skill building program is designed to teach fundamentals. Through fun drills and skill
repetition, athletes will be prepared for the travel basketball season or just have fun
improving their skills.
Who: Boys and Girls Grades 4-6
When: 6-8pm, November 17, 19, 21st (Mon, Wed, Fri)
Where: Dryden Elementary School
Fee: $20 resident / $25 non-resident
($5 late fee after 11/14/14)

Basketball Season
Come join a winter basketball team to have fun during the winter months. Practices are
twice per week, with games on the weekends. Practice times and locations are based on
the availability of school facilities, and are subject to change. This program requires travel
for weekend games. Team maximum is 12.
Who: Boys and Girls Grades 4-6
When: December 1st- February 28th
Where: Dryden High Central School (based on availability)
Fee: $45 resident / $50 non-resident
($10 late fee after 11/26/14)

The Town of Dryden Recreation Department could not do what we do without the support of our wonderful community
volunteers. It doesn’t matter if you have a lot of time or a little, there is always a way to help out. From park clean up days to
coaching to slinging hotdogs or even office work, there is always a way to give back to your community through our

Wrestling Skills and Drills
Come learn the basic techniques of this ancient sport with the Dryden Youth Wrestling
Program. Come to wrestling skills and drills to learn the philosophies and skills of wrestling in
preparation for the wrestling season or just for fun.
Who: Boys and Girls Grades K-7
When: 6-7:30pm, Tuesdays & Thursdays, November 18th- Dec 18th
Where: Dryden High School Small Cafeteria
Fee: $30 resident / $35 non-resident
($5 late fee after 11/13/14)
Registration Deadline: November 13th
Winter Wrestling Season
This exciting program includes practices two days a week (times and days TBD).
This program also offers two clinics at Cornell and the chance to compete at many
tournaments.
Who: Boys and Girls Grades K-7
When: January 6th- March 5th

Fee: $45 resident / $50 non-resident

These basic classes emphasize respect (for yourself and
others), body control, and confidence through the learning of
basic punches, kicks, and blocks. (Individuals older than 13yrs
may participate with special permission from the instructor)

This class is for Junior blue belts and higher and Youth
Advanced white belts and higher. This class is a more
specialized class that will focus on Kata, self defense, preKumite (fighting) skills, and meditation. ***In order to
participate in this class, you must be of appropriate rank and
be enrolled in a basics class, as well.
Class Fee Per Session:
$80.00 for one class per week
$130.00 for two classes per week
Registrations close one week prior to the class start.
After that date, a $10 late fee will apply.

Hope Lake Lodge Waterpark
(Conference Day- No School)
Come enjoy a fun-filled day at the 41,000 sq ft Hope Lake Cascades indoor water park with more than
150,000 gallons of water and over 500 feet of slides. The van will pick students up at 11:30am and spend the
day enjoying the water park returning at 3:30pm. Swimsuit, towel, and a packed lunch are required.
Minimum: 4 Maximum: 10
Who: Boys and Girls Grades 4-8
When: November 10th
Where: Van will leave and return to the Dryden Elementary School
Fee: $25 resident / $30 non-resident
($5 late fee after 11/5/14)

Lights on the Lake
Come enjoy lights on Onondaga Lake! Students will leave from the Dryden Elementary School at 4:15pm to
arrive at the lake around 5:20pm. They will enjoy lights on the like and then head out for dinner with their
friends. Dinner will be at Heid’s of Liverpool and is included in the fee. The van will return to the Elementary
School about 8pm. Minimum: 4 Maximum: 10

Greek Peak Tubing Tuesday!
(School Break Time)
Tubing is one of the fastest growing winter activities in America because everyone can do it! The Greek Peak
Tubing Park has 9 tubing lanes to even race your friends! The van will pick students up at 11:30am and spend
the day enjoying the snow returning at 3:30pm. Winter clothing required (boots, snow pants, coat, gloves,
etc.) (Hard ski boots not permitted)
Minimum: 4 Maximum: 10

Where: Van will leave and return to the Dryden Elementary School

Pickleball
What is Pickleball? Pickleball is a racquet sport which combines elements of badminton,
tennis, and table tennis. This recreational sport is growing in population with all ages!
Come give it a try with friends on Sunday afternoons. Equipment is provided, gym
footwear is required. All skill levels welcome!!
(under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult)

7th Annual Father Daughter Dance
February 7th, 2015
Dads bring your little sweetie for a night of fun, laughter, dancing, and treats. Light
refreshments will be served. Dads and daughters of all ages are welcome! A daddy can
be any male figure in your life — your father, grandfather, uncle, older brother.

At the Wizards game fans see amazing basketball talent combined with hilarious comedy. The athleticism,
tricks, fancy teamwork and ball-handling wizardry, plus wild dunks not even seen in NBA games, engages and
wows the most avid hoops fans. The comedy is for everybody. The Wizards look to push the envelope on fun,
combining pre-planned comedic acts with spontaneous humor that fans of all ages will find laugh out loud
funny. The halftime show with hundreds of kids on the court, plus the postgame interaction with the Wizards
who stay until every autograph is signed, is the cherry on top.
