Lay the sealing cushion round the duct (or cable) with the valve end inwards to the cables (the ideal position
for the valve is below the cables) (Fig. 1). Push the sealing cushion into the cable duct and inflate it via the
valve. (Fig. 4). This can be done with a mini compressor Art. No 33 ASI 500 (Fig. 6), for example.
The stages shown in Figs. 2 and 3 are only required for multi-configured cable
ducts:
Wrap each individual cable in a layer of sealing tape (Fig. 2). If necessary, fill any
gaps between then them with balls of sealing tape (Fig. 3). Position the cable
wrapping and gap fillers below the sealing element. Inflate the sealing element via
the valve (Fig. 4) with a mini compressor Art. No 33 ASI 500 (Fig. 6), for example.
Wrap a layer of insulating tape or sealing tape round the valve extension and if
required, use sealing compound PKDM-ST for protection against rodents.

Sealing principle:
On inflation, the sealing element adapts to fit the space to be sealed.
To remove the element, the air is released via the valve.
Removal is simple, as the materials used do not adhere permanently to one another.

Fibreoptic water detectors
Fibreoptic water detectors for detecting leaks
They help to prevent transmission failure in telecommunication facilities, service or waste water
seepage into the earth, or ground water pollution caused by leaking chemicals.
In the event of leakage, the water detectors create measurable attenuation, in accordance with
the manufacturer-specific microbending of the optical fibres.
In order to detect leaks (or attenuation changes), regular backscatter measurements of the
