A high-quality, homey experience for music lovers Music nourishes the soul in every way. In the midst of large concerts, less is often more. Our new artistic director, Maria Kettunen, has designed a high-quality music event and vocal course in Puumala for all ages. The Sounds of Sai maa event will be held for the fourth time this summer. Sounds of Saimaa Puumala Church 8–19 July 2015 Sounds of Saimaa P uumala Maria Kettunen parish The rural parish’s exquisite timber-beam church reverberates with the fresh sounds of young string-instrumentalists alongside the perfected performances of top soloists. Our hope is to lower the threshold of church-concerts to attract new friends of classical music. 8–19 July 2015 There is never a dress code for our charming summer parish concerts. With the help of the municipality, parish and our sponsors, we try to keep ticket prices affordable. The event also has roots in the archipelago community’s shared volunteer work days.
