SKS Automaatio Oy is a member of the SKS Group. SKS Automaatio Oy manufactures, imports and
sells electrical automation components. In addition to that we offer various services for automation
industry and machine builders. Turnover was 16.4 million EUR in 2014.
Products and services
Our product groups include Components for Process Automation, Components and Special Cables,
Cable Connectors and Connector Systems, Electrification and Control Systems. For the process
industry sector we concentrate on temperature measurement. Our experience of instrumentation is
focused on our own manufacturing of temperature sensors, and all the components needed within.
SKS Sensors®
SKS Automaatio Oy offers state-of-the-art technology for temperature measuring sensor
manufacturing. In addition to the wide standard products range we also provide individual, customer
specific total solutions. The principles of our services are fast and high quality deliveries as well as
cost-effectiveness and low risk for the customer.
Quality with over 20 years of experience
The SKS Sensors® temperature sensors are manufactured with uncompromising expertise for the use
of the process and machine building industries. SKS Automaatio is a temperature sensor
manufacturing pioneer with its 20 years’ experience. The own manufacturing guarantees the short
delivery times also for the application-specific special sensors, e.g. for our range of the ATEX and
IECEx certified, Ex e, Ex t and Ex d type sensors for potentially explosive areas. All demanding
precision welding is performed with the laser welding equipment in the SKS Connecto production
facilities in Hyvinkää, Finland. Our manufacturing operations are ISO 9001:2008 certified. SKS
Group Oy has acquired an ATEX quality certificate VTT 02 ATEX Q 001 according to the EU directive
94/9/EC. Our sensor manufacturing operations are also IECEx Quality Assessment Reported according
to the standard EN ISO/IEC 800079-34. The IECEx QAR Reference No is FI/VTT/QAR14.0001/01.

Ex t - dust-protected enclosure, for dust areas .

The sensor is an ATEX and/or IECEx-certified,
Ex e-type, Pt100 or TC sensor, which can also be
used for dust areas, thanks to its dust-protected
Ex t enclosure.
The measuring circuit can be cabled to a safe area
and to a standard device (no ATEX/IECEx requirements).

The SKS Group has been granted an ATEX Quality Assurance Notification (VTT 02 ATEX Q001) as
required under EU directive 94/9/EC. The notification, issued by VTT Expert Services Ltd., gives the
right to manufacture Ex e and Ex t temperature sensors and to assemble Ex d temperature sensors for
use in explosive atmospheres.

When ATEX certified sensor types are needed, we will manufacture e.g. Ex II 2 GD Ex e II T1-T6 Ex
tD A21 IP66 approved sensors.

We can manufacture and apply for authorization also for different kind of Ex e-designs, which are to

The SKS Group's sensor manufacturing operations have been assessed in an IECEx Quality
Assessment Report (FI/VTT/QAR14.0001/01) as required by the EN ISO/IEC 80079-34 standard. The
auditing organization was VTT Expert Services Ltd. The report gives the right to manufacture Ex e, Ex
t and Ex d type temperature sensors for use in explosive atmospheres and to apply for IECEx approval
for them.
