Blocked punt results in touchdown
West Texas A&M closed out Saturday’s win with 2:53 remaining in the third quarter. That’s when Colton McDonald (son
of former WT volleyball All-American Jill Myatt) blocked a punt in the end zone that was recovered by Trevor Myklebust for
a 38-7 lead.

rushing — and a

the third quarter.
It was
a bendbut-don’t-break day
for the Buffs, who
allowed 458 yards
to Kingsville. So no
“A” with that many
yards.
However,
nothing wrong with
10 seconds left in
the third period
and Kingsville having been held to
seven points. Plus,
freshman Hunter
Streuling made two
interceptions.
A
blocked
punt for a touchdown. Kicker Connor
Hollabaugh
made all seven of
his field-goal and
extra-points
attempts, including
a 55-yard field goal.
No punt or kickoff
returns worth much
out of Kingsville.
What’s not to love?
This was a
dangerous
game for West
Texas A&M to easily overlook. Texas
A&M-Kingsville has
won one game and
fired its coach in
the middle of the
season. But the
Buffs took care of
business, never letting the Javelinas
build any type of
momentum.
