The attached statement showing the present advsxtces of Members to the Working
Capital Fund and the advances resulting from the application •玄 the I960 Scale of
Assessment to the ?und at its present level of $ 3 402 525 is submitted for the
information of the Standing Coimittee,

The Standing Goirmiittee will note that the application of the I960 Scale of
Assessments would result in 45 Members being required to make additional advances
»
ranging from ‘ 20 (0.45 per cent.) to!’ 237 315 (12Л.26 per cent.).
Forty-two
Members would receive refunds ranging from ^ 67 (3.49 per cent.) to $ 122 538
(10.20 per cent.).
One Member (China) which has special arrangments approved by
the World Health Assembly, and which has not yet paid its advance, would owe $ 23 261
less than it now owes.

The comparatively large increases for some Members are accounted for by the fact
that those Members have had substantial increases in the ÏMited Nations Scale of
Assessment during the past years which are nor being applied in one step to their
advances to the forking Capital Fund.
