SCAD presents the Savannah Film Festival, a week-long celebration
of cinematic creativity showcasing the work of professionals and
students. Founded in 1998, the Savannah Film Festival is the largest
university film festival in the nation and attracts 40,000 attendees
annually.
SCAD Atlanta celebrates the best in epic television at aTVfest, three
days of workshops, screenings and networking opportunities that
illuminate television in all spheres of production – from network,
to cable, to Web.

Here’s how:
SCAD produces some of the world’s brightest prospects for the
film and television market through technical competency derived
from our nationally recognized academic programs, facilities, expert
faculty and distinguished alumni.
SCAD is the only university in the U.S. offering a combined M.A./M.F.A.
in cinema studies and film production. SCAD is the first and only
university to confer B.F.A., M.A. and M.F.A. degrees in sound design.
With its location in Hong Kong, SCAD is the only U.S. university
with a global presence in digital media through film and television,
animation, interactive design and game development, motion media
design and visual effects.
Our sought-after students study under professors who have served
in leading roles at Pixar, Sony Pictures, Industrial Light & Magic,
Walt Disney Animation Studios, DreamWorks, HBO, AMC, CBS,
FOX and more.

SAVANNAH FILM STUDIOS
We are pleased to introduce Savannah Film Studios, the newest
addition to our nearly 70 SCAD facilities, that are woven into the
fabric of one of the largest and most renowned National Historic
Landmark districts in the United States.
This facility has been designed so that academic and professional
activities can take place under one roof. The 22,000-square-foot
former meatpacking plant is outfitted with three sound stages,
green rooms, lighting grids, postproduction suites, screening rooms
and production offices.
Savannah Film Studios has all the amenities and infrastructure to
handle industry-level productions. Here are a few:

INDIAN STREET STUDIOS
Amid the historic seaport buildings overlooking the Savannah River,
you’ll find Hamilton Hall, the university’s original film and sound
facility. Minimally ornamented and functionally designed, Hamilton
Hall originally provided space for a secondary power station and
warehouse.
Today, this 49,373-square-foot facility includes classrooms and
studio space, a professionally equipped sound recording studio and
control room, Foley and automated dialog recording stage, music
recording studio, a film screening room with surround-sound mixing,
and postproduction suites equipped with Avid Pro Tools and Media
Composer.
Hamilton Hall’s postproduction facilities and screening rooms
expand to the adjacent Adler Hall and together the two are known
as Indian Street Studios.
While studying at SCAD I worked with
an incredible variety of creatives. Sound

animators, game designers and actors
were all a part of the process. Filmmaking
is the ultimate team sport and SCAD’s

me for what I do today as a producer;
build teams that make commericals,
music videos and feature films.

DIGITAL MEDIA CENTER
Atlanta has become a hotbed for television production, climbing
to the eighth-largest market in the U.S. and the third largest on the
East Coast. As home to CNN, Cartoon Network, FOX Sports, Cox
Communications, Turner Broadcasting, The Weather Channel and
more, Atlanta is a digital media super hub.
Perfectly situated in Atlanta’s thriving Midtown neighborhood, the
SCAD Digital Media Center is an expansive 60,000-square-foot
film and television facility that boasts 12 classrooms, a green screen
stage, a 75-seat screening room, a fully-equipped high-definition TV
studio, private audio and video editing suites, postproduction labs
and a gaming lounge.
The SCAD studio is production-ready, allowing students and
professionals to conceive, shoot and produce entire programs
under one roof.
GOING GLOBAL
SCAD revitalized the historic North Kowloon Magistracy Building in
Kowloon after the Hong Kong Development Bureau entrusted it to
the university in 2009. While honoring the structure’s historic and
cultural significance, SCAD transformed the facility into the leading
site for the study of digital media in Asia. The building is home to a
library, computer labs, digital studios, classrooms and lecture halls.
In Hong Kong, we offer a state-of-the-art green screen studio, sound
design suite, postproduction bays and digital studios equipped to
support work in animation, motion media design, visual effects
and more.

More than production facilities, SCAD Film & TV Studios

Pro Tools sound editing
Green screen studios
The 28,296-square-foot Trustees Theater in Savannah seats 1,100 and
is equipped for 4K Digital Cinema Projection, Dolby Digital Surround
Sound and 3-D projection.
Foley sound stage
The historic Lucas Theatre for the Arts in Savannah is equipped with
4K Digital Cinema Projection and seats 1,237.
Studio space
SCADshow, the 13,000-square-foot theater in Atlanta features three
stages with a total of 635 seats and is equipped with 4K Digital
Cinema Projection and Dolby Digital Surround Sound. In addition to
a main stage with 375 seats and two black box theaters that include
185 and 75 seats, SCADshow has production offices on its second
floor, available as rental space for use by professional productions.
