The deadline for all entries is January 16th, 2015.
General admission $8.00 (adults and students) $5.00 seniors/children under 3.

Divisions: Middle School – open to school teams made up of 8th grade and under
Junior Varsity – open to JV teams only
All Girl Novice – For all girl teams that are relatively new to competition.
Novice division only: No free standing single legged stunts. Braced single legged stunts
are legal. No tosses allowed. No full twisting dismounts from extended stunts. Single
twisting dismounts from the prep level are legal.
All Girl Varsity – Open to all high school teams made up of all females.
(This division may be broken up into large and small based on entries).
Co-Ed Varsity – Open to all high school teams with at least one male.
College All Girl – Open to all college teams made up of all females.
College Co-Ed – Open to all college teams with at least one male.
Top Gun Partner Stunt – All Girl/JV/MS – up to 5 members from the same team.
Co-Ed – 1 male & 1 female from the same team and 1 spotter.
Entry fees: $125.00 per team. $30.00 per stunt group. Checks should be made
payable to “DHS Cheerleading” and mailed to Joann Tatarzycki, Danbury High School,
43 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury, Ct. 06811 along with the registration forms.
Performance order: Will be determined by lottery once all entries are received.
Rules & Regulations: The 2014-2015 National Federation High School Spirit Rules must
be followed for high school teams. Middle school and college must follow both NFHS
and AACCA. A safety judge will be used. Violation of any rule during the actual
performance will result in penalty points. We will use the CT. State score sheets.
School Cheer Team divisions: Each squad will perform a choreographed routine not to
exceed 2 ½ minutes in length. (No time limit for music).
Partner Stunt Divisions – Routine length will not exceed 1 minute and will be all music.
Competition Area: All routines will take place on a 42 x 42 carpeted Tiffin cheer floor
(7 strips) in the DHS Main Gym.
Practice Time: Each team will be given 5 minutes of practice time on a
stretching/stunting mat, 5 minutes on a tumble strip mat and 5 minutes on a full cheer
mat in our auxiliary gym. Partner stunt groups will be given 2 minutes to warm-up
prior to their performances. Warm-up times will be sent out with performance times
one week before the competition.
Judges: Judges will be qualified, experienced judges with a thorough knowledge and
background in cheerleading.
Awards: Team trophies will be awarded to the top half of each division. Medals will be
awarded to the top half in the partner stunt groups. Additional awards will include the
Top Hat Award (grand champion), Spirit award, and specialty awards including
originality and best pyramid.
Music: Please bring two copies of your music on CD. Please label with your school
name and coaches name. Music will be brought to the DJ table prior to your
performance.
Admission: $8.00 per person (adults and students). $5.00 for seniors and children
under 3. Two coaches per team will be allowed in, all additional coaches must pay the
admission fee. You must have a stamp to gain admittance to the main gym.
Concessions: There will be a full concession stand operating in the 3rd gym, offering
breakfast and lunch items, snacks, soda, gatorade, coffee, and water. Tables will be
available for sitting.
T-Shirts/Vendors: T-shirts will be available for purchase at $15.00 each. Vendors to be
announced.
Contests: During the wait for awards we will offer the following:
Longest held full – 4 team members only
Longest held lib – 4 team members only
Most back handsprings
Most back tucks
Contest costs are $1.00 per team member, and all profits go to “Spirit for Skylar”,
which will help a local Danbury girl in her fight against cancer.
Additional contest: Since we are the “Hatters”, we would like all coaches to wear a team
decorated hat – the best hat will win a basket full of goodies!
