Diablo Valley College and University of Southern California Transfer Advisement Sheet for the Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration Effective Fall 2010 – Summer 2011 The following pre-major courses are required for admission consideration: Admission Requirements 1 Writing Requirement USC Course WRIT-130 or 140 Fund. ENGL 123 or 126 or PHILO 130 or SOCIO 122 or SPCH 121 or HIST 122 MATH 182 with 183 * Completion of Diablo Valley College’s Math 192 (USC MATH-125 Calculus I) equivalent will waive the USC MATH-118 equivalent **As of fall 2010, microeconomics and macroeconomics are no longer required for admission to the Marshall School of Business. Revisions to the undergraduate curriculum require an intermediate economics sequence to be completed at USC, in residence. Additional Suggested Preparation Successful completion of two accounting courses (BUSAC 186 and 187) allows registration in BUAD 305. BUSAC 186 and 187 will transfer as elective credit. If you do not complete the two semesters of accounting prior to entering USC, you would enroll in BUAD 280 and BUAD 281 and take six units of accounting at USC. Admission into the Leventhal School of Accounting is granted through the Marshall School of Business. Prospective accounting majors must receive grades of “B” or better in both BUSAC 186 and 187. Additional consideration will be given to applicants who have completed courses which satisfy general education categories I, II, III, and V. Applications for admission to USC’s Marshall School of Business can be submitted after completing at least 30 transferable units as well as the courses listed above. We consider the application prompts; academic/enrollment history and pre-major course performance. A maximum of 64, transferable, college units may be used to fulfill USC undergraduate degree requirements. Applicants completing a minimum of 30 transferable units by the end of the spring term are not required to submit standardized testing scores.
