The simple answer is there is LOTS of theory to cover.
This means that majority of the time we will be
covering theory. It will probably work out to be:
- Theory 60%
- Practical 40%
Remember the HSC is a written examination

HSC Questions
Revision Questions
You will need to print pages 14-26 and have them at the
front of your folder. After each lesson, you will need to
highlight the ‘Learn To and Learn About’ outcomes you
have achieved. This will be also useful for revision. You
need to also put question marks next to areas that may
still not be clear to you even after covering them in class.
All work given out and presented will be posted on the Wiki
after the lesson. It will be your responsibility to access the
Wiki and save these documents.
You will need to ensure your USB is organised!!!!
Does this mean you don’t take notes in class? ABSOLUTELY
NOT!!!!

What message does it send
you as IPT 2010 students?
The preliminary course will provide you with thorough
grounding in regard to the operation and design of
information systems.
In the HSC course you will apply this knowledge as you
examine and develop particular types of information systems
such as communication systems and database systems.
‘Information systems and the role they play in society have
increased in significance in recent years. The raw ingredients
– information, information technology and participants –
combine to form information processes within information
systems. The area of information systems has provided major
jobs growth for both women and men in recent years.
Moreover, fields which have not traditionally been associated
with computers – but in which processing information is a
vital function – are emerging as exciting new areas of
employment. These include music, the arts, science and
technology as well as new and fast-growing industries that
use multimedia.’
