What ever I do I’m gonna ROCK!
It’s important that whatever career you choose, you do your very best
and be the best you can be.
Steve Jobs founder of Apple Inc spoke to students with
this message.
“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and
the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you
believe is great work. And the only way to do great work
is to love what you do.
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be
trapped by dogma —which is living with the results of other people’s
thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner
voice”.

How we discover your style
MyCareerMatch is a personality type survey based on understanding
human behaviour.
Although we are all different we can predict how people behave by asking
them questions about how they like to do things, and analysing their
answers.
People are born with a specific personality style. There are no styles that are
better or worse; just different.
Each style has its own unique strengths and potential weaknesses. What’s
important when choosing a career is to choose one that uses your strengths,
and the things you’re good at; not the things you’re not good at.
Choosing a career that matches who you are is one of the most important
discoveries you can make about yourself that will change your life forever!

HOMER has always got an idea or scheme and no matter what goes wrong he

fun. He’s very much a big picture person and not very concerned with details or
problems he may cause. Homer is a PROMOTER.
MARGE looks after the family, is concerned about each of them and provides
encouragement when they’re down and recognition when they succeed. She’s
interested in security and doesn’t like change. She puts others ahead of herself.
Marge is a SUPPORTER
BART is always looking to gain an advantage for himself. He’s inward looking and
often ignores people’s feelings. He tries to figure out a way for him to get the most
by doing the least. He’s full of action and can’t sit still. Bart is a DRIVER.

Harry Potter – four school houses
Most high schools have four houses and so does Hogwarts School of Witchcraft.
When students arrive they have the ‘sorting hat’ placed on their heads. The hat
reads their personalities and assigns a house to each student.
Which house is – Driver, Promoter, Supporter or Analyser ?

Each Gospel conveys their personality
Each of the four Gospels represents a different personality style and each describes their account
of the life of Jesus differently with a key message that matches their style.
The value of having all four styles portray these events is to create a ‘complete’ picture of who
Jesus was.

What did you discover and learn?
•
We each have our own personality style
•
One style is not better or worse than another
•
We are all good at some things but not at others
•
All styles can be successful
•
We should focus on our strengths and be really good at what we do well
•
Look for careers that match who you are and what you’re passionate about
•
If you learn to recognise styles you’ll get along with people better
•
People like to do things their way because that’s their style
•
We should use our natural gifts and talents in everything we do
•
Be yourself!
