Plastic Usage Reduction:
A School Campaign
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the project, the participating students
are expected to:
Inter-disciplinary learning objectives
Create an online campaign material on plastic usage
reduction
Use the data gathered from each country involved
in order to make a video presentation regarding the
reduction of plastic usage

• Understand the effects of plastic in society
• Create pamphlets/brochures and other printed
information disseminating materials
• Conduct exhibits to showcase information
regarding the detrimental effects of plastics
• Share the e-poster’s publication regarding to the
social communication.

• Understand the implications of using plastic and
its effect in the environment
• Determine how plastic usage can be reduced and
its possible alternatives
• Investigate the status of usage and awareness of
school regarding bad effects of plastic and make a
report.

• Produce essays, articles, quotations, and slogans
regarding plastic reduction
Arts
• Produce creative printed and online materials
(cards, brochures, pamphlets, posters) regarding
plastic reduction
PARTICIPATING STUDENTS
The target participants are students from Grade 7
to Grade 10. Their curriculum, knowledge of ICT,
and emotional maturity in terms of participation
and involvement in the project are appropriate for
the project.
PBL DESCRIPTION
An environment
protection
campaign
(focusing on plastic use reduction) will be carried
out in the school to bring awareness to students on
the environment.
Under the guidance of the teachers, students
will be engaging with the various class activities
such as
designing posters, cards, brochures,
quotations, slogans, composing essays, articles,
write-ups, class presentations, formal surveys and
interviews, and ICT-assisted projects.
PBL DESCRIPTION
The coordinators of each participating
country is expected to conduct collaboration and
orientation with Science, Social Studies, Language,
and Arts teachers in the secondary levels. The said
subject areas will be tapped to integrate plastic
usage reduction campaign.
The identified class activities will be collated
and compiled to upload in a free hosting website
for the creation of electronic publication campaign
materials.
PBL DESCRIPTION
The concluding telecollaboration activity of
students involved will be the video/movie
presentation using selected student outputs.
