Who would have thought that in just 19 years Project Ed Bear would have given over a half a million dollars to provide comforts and needs to pediatric oncology patients in Ohio? Most of our work is done for and through Akron Children’s Hospital with our actual mission being to provide comforts and needs for pediatric oncology patients throughout Ohio. We often send bears and other items to children suffering from cancer all over Ohio. All of this was made possible because of you. Your support to Project Ed Bear has enabled us to help children suffering from cancer by providing comforts and needs not limited to but including • The Signature “Ed Bear” Teddy Bear that started it all. This is given to every child upon being diagnosed. • Play Stations and games for each room on the oncology unit and for every bed in the clinic • The annual Camp Ed Bear (camp for hematology/oncology patients of Akron Children’s Hospital) • LIV Thru Art (art lessons provided by local artist in memory of Olivia Ward) • An Art Gallery opening and showing for our LIV Thru Art participants • Several events throughout September (Childhood Cancer Awareness Month) in collaboration with Camp Quality. • Mad Hatters Tea every other year. Out next one is in 2014.
