Som vi har orienteret om tidligere, finder PUR-sektionens årsmøde sted 21. maj 2015 kl. 17:15 på
Sinatur Hotel Storebælt, Østerøvej 121, 5800 Nyborg, tel. 65 31 40 02.
I tilknytning til årsmødet afholder sektionens sin temadag POLYURETHAN OG BÆREDYGTIGHED
samme sted. Temadagen starter med registrering kl. 09:00.
Der er lagt op til en rigtig spændende dag med mange spændende foredrag på temadagen.
I forbindelse med årsmødet umiddelbart efter temadagen, uddeles den nyindstiftede PUR-pris.

09:30 Bæredygtighed i byggeriet - Sustainability in the Building Sector
Linda Høibye/Cowi/Green Building Council Denmark
Nowadays everybody are talking about sustainability, and still there are
no fixed definition of the term. Companies develop their own definition
and content. In this presentation, Linda will initiate the presentation by
presenting selected ways to define sustainability.
This start will act as a basis for entering into the Danish initiatives to
include and work with sustainability within the building sector by
describing the Energy Agencys new tool LCA and LCC Byg and initiatives
within the Danish Environmental Protection Agency.
Additionally there are several other initiatives for sustainability in the
marked across branches and companies in Denmark. The Green Transition
in Denmark includes many effective ways to work with sustainability, circular economy and
industrial symbiosis. Common for all these initiatives is to strengthen Danish companies for the
increased marked pressure and competition.
Linda will present some of the initiatives and present examples from companies where the work
with sustainability has been a great success.

10:50 EHS legislation in EU impacting Isocyanates
Liesbeth Melis, Product Steward for the Construction Business, Huntsman Polyurethanes
A REACh Isocyanate Restriction Project has been initiated by the German
Authority BAuA.
This project has been driven by a fundamental concern of Germany and
other EU Member States on the number of occupational asthma cases
that are claimed to be associated with the use of isocyanates, even
though, also due to various product stewardship initiatives, their number
have decreased over the last 10 years.
There is a strong will to further reduce these cases and one of the options
favoured by BAuA is to define use restrictions within the EU REACh
framework.
An update on this work will be given and discussed including (1) What is reach ? (2). Requirements
for downstream users, (3). What to expect and/or what do we need?

11:40 Sustainability yes, but how to declare it?
Oliver Loebel, Managing Director, PU Europe
There is increasing pressure from regulators and the construction value
chain to provide evidence of the “sustainability” of proposed building
solutions. The PU industry has consistently supported efforts to develop a
holistic, LCA-based methodology. This presentation will give an overview
of the system developed by CEN/TC350. A particular focus will be placed
on Environmental Product Declarations, their content, use, limitations and
future development. Furthermore, current Commission initiatives will be
presented including Product Environmental Footprint for insulation
products and efforts to establish benchmarks for recycled content in these
products.
These activities are triggered by the fact that none of the existing systems offers a scientific
solution for business-to-consumer communication. This needs to be resolved. As a matter of
example for national schemes, the UK Green Guide will be briefly introduced.

13:30 Flexible Foam and Sustainability
Michel Baumgartner, Secretary General of EUROPUR and of EURO-MOULDERS
Circular Economy is a topic that is high on the EU’s agenda. The European
Commission is planning to propose at the end of 2015 a revised proposal
for a ban on landfill and high recycling targets for all plastics, including
thermosets, as well as extended producer responsibility schemes. This
require industry to re-think the end of life of flexible PU foam containing
products. The presentation will present the issues at stake and outline
some of the thoughts of EUROPUR members on this topic. It will also
touch upon other activities of EUROPUR with regards to sustainability,
such as the review of ecoprofiles for flexible PU foam and the EU Ecolabel
for mattresses and furniture.

Growing demand is putting an increasing strain on our planet. We already
consume more than the Earth can regenerate. Sustainability is therefore
crucial for our future. At BASF we have placed this challenge at the core of
our business strategy: “We create chemistry for a sustainable future” We
partner to develop more sustainable solutions which meet society’s
needs. This is the growth driver for our business.
This presentation will provide insights into how BASF has set goals and
management instruments to implement this strategy and embed
sustainability throughout the whole company.
16:00 Lovgivning i relation til affaldshåndtering - Plastics and Recycling
Jakob Clemen, miljøkonsulent, Plastindustrien
Der er sket meget med genanvendelse af plast i Danmark, siden den
tidligere Miljøminister Ida Auken bebudede den nu vedtagne
ressourcestrategi til minimering af affald i 2012. Hvor genanvendelse af
plast tidligere var et fokusområde internt på virksomhederne, har
strategien sammenholdt med introduktionen af begreber som f.eks.
cirkulær økonomi og cradle2cradle medvirket til at skabe fokus på nye
forretningsmuligheder og værdikædesamarbejder. Men i hvilken retning
peger dansk og europæisk regulering på genanvendelsesområdet og
hvilke barrierer er der for øget genanvendelse i Danmark set fra
Plastindustriens perspektiv?
