What is Teacher Tube?
 Teacher Tube is a website designed for teachers to upload
educational videos, support documents, and audio to
share with each other.
 There is a new section to the site they just added that
provides teaching resources, such as, lesson plans,
classroom management, subject guides, etc.
 Their goal “is to provide an online community for sharing
instructional videos. We [They] seek to fill a need for a
more educationally focused, safe venue for teachers,
schools, and home learners.”
How does it help me?
 The students we will teach will be digital learners, so it is important that
we use technology to teach them. Teacher Tube provides a place to store
those documents and videos.
 Provides a better alternative for uploading/sharing videos and files
compared to other sites. (You Tube, School Tube)
 Teacher Tube supports any educational goal you set.
 The content of all videos and files are appropriate to use in the classroom.
Teachers no longer have to worry about using a “scandalous” video.
 It is designed to give 24/7 “anytime, anywhere professional development
with teachers teaching teachers.”
 Learn and share ideas with other teachers.
 There are tutorial videos that share how to use certain software and
hardware commonly found in the classroom. (Document Camera, Excel,
Movie Maker)
How does Teacher Tube work?
 Teacher Tube is extremely easy to use for teacher and student.
 It is interactive and engages its members to upload files to share and to
continually give feedback and suggestions.
 Users are allowed to rate and comment on files that are uploaded since
the creator believes that the “community members are a major part of
the evolution of the site.”
 In order to upload videos and documents, you need to create an account.
 Accounts are free and only require payment if you choose to buy lesson
plans from their teacher resource section.
 To only view the videos and documents there is no need for a
membership. Just enter your search criteria in the search bar and select
the media to want to find. Browse through your selections until you find
something that works for you.
When do I use Teacher Tube?
 Teacher Tube can be used on a regular basis in order to:
 Share files with fellow educators.
 Find interesting videos to integrate into your lessons.
 Share ideas and receive feedback from other educators.
 Upload videos and documents that are easily accessible to
students at home.
 Post files to a class blog, website, or Wiki with an embedded link
without the hassle of having to follow “tech savvy” steps for
embedding.
 Run it during class without disturbing students
 Run it during class and the sound from video and audio has the
ability to enhance their learning.
Assessment
 You can assess the effectiveness of Teacher Tube by:
 Monitoring students’ reactions in class
 Monitoring how many “hits” you have on your uploaded files
Helpful Hints
 Create a free account to browse through videos, otherwise
they play annoying ads before the video starts.
 When you are searching for videos, documents, or audio,
make sure the information is correct. Since this site is open
to the public and anyone can create an account and upload
files, that could possibly lead to false information.
