MWR Selfie Contest • Nov. 1–23 Snap a selfie at any MWR program or in a MWR facility and email it to [email protected] for a chance to win 1 round-trip airline ticket! Pictures will be posted to Facebook and the picture with the most likes and the judges feel captures the essence/mission of MWR will win! November 1-2 Overnight Camping Trip Trip fee - $25 Spend the night camping at Illinois Beach State Park! An MWR guide will help any camping novices learn the ropes. This is a great trip for any outdoor lovers! Included in the trip are round-trip transportation, camping fee, tent, sleeping bag, dinner, and a light breakfast. November 13 Community Recreation Night 6-8pm • Activity Fee $6 • Drop by Rynish Entertainment and Bowling Center to take advantage of 1 round of mini-golf, inflatables, 1 Atomic Rush token, and 4 regular game tokens for only $6! There will also be other fun contests and activities during that time! Fun for all ages! November 3 FREE Fishing Day 8:30am–5pm Stop by the Marina to enjoy FREE shing! First time shing? No problem, there will be a knowledgeable MWR rep there to help! We will provide free gear & tackle. November 15 Basic Bike Maintenance Clinic 3-4:30 pm • Class Fee - FREE! Sign up for this class to learn basic bike maintenance and basic repairs to keep your bike in top riding shape. Bikes will be provided for teaching, but you may bring your own as well. This class is held at the Marina. November 5 Beginner Archery Class 4:30–6pm • Class Fee - FREE! Come down to the Marina to learn the basics of archery. Basic parts of the bow and arrow and how they function along with target shooting. All equipment will be provided. November 15 College of Lake County Pet Wellness Class Class Fee - $35 • Prevention of illness or injury is far better than having to treat a suffering pet. Learn about common medical problems faced by pets in our area and how to avoid them, from vaccines to parasites to safety tips. Students in grades 6-12 can register with a parent or authorized adult who also registers for and attends the class. November 6 NBC Sunday Night Football Bus Experience Constitution Field • 2–7pm The NBC Sunday Night Football Bus will be on base to provide an interactive experience for the NFL's military fans! This bus features the Vince Lombardi Trophy, football player photo bomb wall, player of the game footballs signed by the players and much more! Great contests, activities, and an airfare giveaway!! November 15 DIY Christmas Wreaths 6-8pm • Class Fee - $5 Tis' the season to be crafty! With the Holidays right around the corner, this is a perfect opportunity to get a jump start on seasonal decorations. Create your own holiday wreath at the Marina. All supplies and materials will be provided. November 8 Ringling Brothers Circus Trip Trip fee - $28 • Experience unimaginable family fun, as amazing performers from around the globe perform aweinspiring feats of daring, spectacles of strength and thrills of wonder to summon the mythical and mysterious creatures of the past: a Unicorn, a Pegasus and a Woolly Mammoth! Trip fee Includes roundtrip transportation, parking, and admission to the circus. November 16 Untouchable Gangster Tour Trip fee - $37 Experience Chicago as it was during the 1920s and 30s. See the old gangster hot spots and hit spots. Hear historically accurate accounts of the exploits of Capone, Moran, Dillinger and the rest of da boys. Fee includes round-trip transportation, parking, and gangster tour. November 11 Black Ops Airsoft Trip Trip fee - $7 • Test your shooting and combat skills on the trip to Black Ops Airsoft. Guns, ammo, and protective masks are available for rental. Trip fee includes round-trip transportation and parking. Bring money to pay to play at Black Ops. November 22 Magnificent Mile Lights Parade Trip Trip fee - $10 (adults) $7 (children 12 & under) Make your holidays magnicent! Visit The Magnicent Mile Lights Festival Parade which is the nation's largest evening holiday celebration to kick off the holiday season. This includes round-trip transportation and parking. November 11 Cinema Café 5:30-8:30-4:30 pm • FREE! In honor of Veteran's Day, a military themed movie will be shown at Port O' Call. Bring blankets and pillows if you want to be comfy. Want dinner and a movie? Hot dogs and chips will be available for purchase, cash only! November 23 Roller Skating Trip Trip fee - $7 • Get ready to lace up some roller skates and groove to the music on the trip to Orbit Skating Center! You are welcome to bring your own roller skates. In-line and quad roller skates are available for rental. Trip fee includes round-trip transportation and parking. Please bring an extra $10 to skate.
