“I told them how the hand of my God had been favorable to me and also about the king's words which he had spoken to me.
Then they said, Let us arise and build. So they put their hands to the good work.” - Nehemiah 2:18

Invitation to Christian Discipleship
Holy Communion
As we embrace a new year and our new theme on
Fellowship, scripture gives us some insight into how we
show hospitality to others and to whom we show that
hospitality. While it’s easy to fellowship with those we
know and have similarities with, God’s formula for
fellowship calls us to extend our fellowship to the least,
the lost and the left out.

Happy Birthday to all
Members and Friends who
will Celebrate a birthday
in the month of November!
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and
earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally
begotten of the Father, God from God, light from light, true God from
true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him
all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of
the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and
was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the
Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the
Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and
his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds
from the Father [and the Son], who with the Father and the Son is
worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to
come. Amen.

November is Diabetes Awareness Month
America Gets Cooking to Stop Diabetes
Whether on tour, meeting her fans or relaxing at home with family, DJ Spinderella, member of the iconic
hip-hop group Salt-n-Pepa, is passionate about ending diabetes once and for all. She has personally seen
the severe consequences the disease has on not only the person with the disease, but an entire family. Her
own mother passed away from complications of type 2 diabetes, and now she watches her brother live
with type 2 and young nephew live with type 1 every day.
“Though I’ve experienced devastating loss from this disease, people need to know that diabetes doesn’t
have to conquer you,” she said. “With a sensible diet and exercise, you can take charge of your diabetes
and help prevent its deadly complications. For those at risk for type 2 diabetes, you can even prevent or
delay the disease.”
To help spread this message, Spinderella is joining the American Diabetes Association this November during American Diabetes Month® by challenging New Mount Olive Community to begin living a healthier
lifestyle through the America Gets Cooking to Stop Diabetes campaign, presented by Sun Life Financial.
This initiative is designed to engage and empower Americans to cook nutritious and delicious food, and
encourage them to be more active.
Nearly 30 million children and adults in the United States are living with diabetes. The goal for American
Diabetes Month and beyond is to show Americans that it’s not too late to start living a healthy active lifestyle and you can even have fun while doing it.”

Youth Ministries
Balanced Life
Luke 2:52 says, JESUS grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man. Jesus’
adolescent development consisted of balanced growth—mentally, physically, spiritually and
socially. New Mount Olive’s Youth Ministry is based on the “balanced life” approach to help our teenagers
develop the faith foundation for a lifetime. We are inviting all of our middle and high school students to
get engaged with our Youth Ministry.
Tools Needed For Teen Boys
We are teaching the boys in our W.O.L.F. PAC Ministry how to “fix” and “build” things like bikes, faucets,
flat tires, etc. If you have unused tools or tool boxes that you are willing to donate, please see Rev. Crunch.

The Youth Ministry is sponsoring our annual trip to the 2014 Florida Classic in Orlando, FL on Saturday,

The Prayer Ministry is inviting the congregation to join them in their "Fall Prayer Vigil"
on Saturday, November 15, 2014. We will be worshipping God through prayer from 6:00
a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Leading into the vigil, we will start our week of fasting beginning on Sunday, November
9th at 6:00 p.m. Our fast will be "The John the Baptist Fast", THAT OUR TESTIMONIES AND INFLUENCE FOR JESUS BE ENHANCED BEFORE OTHERS. Our diet will be limited to fruits, vegetables and
water.

Bible Tip for Managing Your Finances
GUARD AGAINST
There are many warnings in the Bible about giving in to greed and longing for riches. Jesus warned,
“Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of
his possessions” (Luke 12:15). “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal… You cannot serve both God and money” (Matthew 6:19 and
24). Did Jesus pursue the acquisition of money? No. On the contrary, He became poor for our sake (2 Corinthians 8:9) and had “no place to lay his head” (Matthew 8:20). The only disciple concerned with wealth
was the embezzler Judas, who betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. Greed and a desire for riches are traps
that bring ruin and destruction. (from gotquestions.org)
