Overview of food grades
Plastics are frequently used in industrial applications
that, in direct contact, handle foods. This table shows
whether or not the plastic type/plastics types are
apporved to such use according to the following regulations:
EU: Complies with (EC) no. 1935/2004 and 2023/2006/
EC and GMP: Good Manufacturing Practice and relevant demands in directive EC10/2011 and changes/
amendments in up untill EC 1183/2012
FDA: Complies with USA Food and Drug Administration
and (21CFR)

supplied with a declaration to such compliance.
EC 1935/2004
Material
PE HD 500
All EU countries must live up to the EC 1935/2004 regulation
– regardless cases in which the machines/equipment is supplied to countries outside the EU. This means that, when exporting machines e.g. to the U.S.A. all plastic components in the
machine/equipment, has to be EU and FDA certified/approved.
